It was a very busy weekend for the Arlington County Police Department, as reflected in this week’s crime report.
Early Sunday morning, a man’s relaxing massage in Clarendon turned into anything but. According to the report, he allegedly robbed the masseuse and then, when police arrived, pulled a knife on officers. That move bought him some deep tissue stimulation courtesy of an officer’s Taser.
ASSAULT ON POLICE-ARREST 11/07/10, 3000 block of Washington Boulevard. On November 7 at 4:45 am, a man assaulted a woman that he had hired for a massage and also robbed her. When police approached him, he displayed a knife and was not compliant. An officer deployed a tazer and the suspect was taken into custody. Patrick Whitesell, 34, of Arlington was charged with Assault on Law Enforcement, Grand Larceny, Larceny from a Person and Assault and Battery. He was held without bond.
Thinking that getting assaulted by belligerent suspects sounds like a fun volunteer opportunity, one young man is accused of impersonating Johnny Law by installing police lights in his car.
IMPERSONATION OF POLICE-ARREST 11/05/10, 5200 block of S. 8th Road. On November 5 at 10:40 am, a man was seen driving a vehicle with police lights through traffic. Josue Chicas, 20, of Arlington, was charged with Impersonating a Police Officer. He was released on a summons.
Late Saturday night, a bridal shower got way out of control in Clarendon. After the glass bottles stopped flying, a 25-year-old Maryland woman was arrested.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT-ARREST 11/06/10, 3100 block of Clarendon Boulevard. On November 6 at 11:30 pm, two women argued during a bridal shower at a bar. A glass bottle was thrown during the fight, and a bystander was struck in the face. Jazmine Geans, 25, of Lusby, MD, was charged with Disorderly Conduct. She was held on a $2,000 bond.
It was not a good weekend for cab drivers. One was carjacked, and another was assaulted with a belt.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING 11/07/10, 1800 block of N. Oak Street. On November 7 at 2:30 am, a man assaulted a cab driver with a belt rather than pay his fare. Nabil Guermoudi, 27, of Arlington, was charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond.
CARJACKING-ARREST 11/07/10, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. On November 7 at 6 am, a man assaulted a cab driver, and then drove the cab away. Police apprehended the suspect. David Norman, 28, of Redondo Beach, CA, was charged with Carjacking. He was held without bond.
Police say one guy was dining in a Clarendon restaurant Saturday night when he started acting weird. He’s accused of stabbing another patron with a butter knife. Needless to say, the victim’s injuries were minor.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING 11/06/10, 3000 block of Wilson Boulevard. On November 6 at 9:30 pm, a man in a restaurant was acting erratically, and stabbed another patron with a butter knife. The victim received a minor injury. Mario Tellez, 50, of Arlington, was charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond.
A scary incident in Aurora Hills happened Sunday night. Two guys lured a pizza deliveryman to an alley and robbed him at gunpoint.
ROBBERY 11/07/10, 2700 block of S. Fern Street. On November 7 at 8 pm, a pizza deliveryman was lured to an alley by a fake delivery call, and robbed by two men displaying handguns. One suspect was a heavyset white Hispanic male in his mid-30’s, 5’8″. He was wearing a black coat, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. The second suspect was an African American male in his late 30’s and 5’10”. He was wearing a black coat with the hood pulled up.

BURGLARY 11/05/10, 2000 block of N. Nelson Street. Between 6:30 pm on November 3, and 5:30 pm on November 5, an unknown person entered an equipment shed and stole a snow blower and other items. There is no suspect description.
FORCIBLE SODOMY-ARREST 11/04/10, 2100 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. On November 4 at 8 am, police responded to an apartment for a check on the welfare call. They located two females that had been assaulted. The suspect forced each woman to complete a sexual act while held at gunpoint. McKinley Joyner, 33, of Arlington was charged with two counts of Forcible Sodomy. He was held without bond.
ASSAULT BY MOB 11/07/10, 4300 block of N. Pershing Drive. On November 7 at 1:30 pm, a man was seen being assaulted by four unknown white Hispanic males. The victim was intoxicated and does not know why he was assaulted.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING 11/07/10, 300 block of Army Navy Drive. On November 7 at 1:50 am, two men were involved in a physical fight when one stabbed the other one on the side of his stomach. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Stanislav Borodetskiy, 20, of Alexandria, was charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond.
ROBBERY-ARREST 11/03/10, 2200 block of S. Shirlington Road. On November 3 at 10:50 pm, two men assaulted a third, and stole money from the victim. Police located one suspect. Martin Walker, 19, of Largo, MD, was charged with Robbery. He was held without bond.
ROBBERY 11/06/10, 300 block of N. Thomas Street. On November 6 at 9:45 pm, a man and woman approached the male victim walking on a sidewalk. The male suspect displayed a knife and demanded money. When the suspects took the victim’s money and cell phone, they fled. The suspects were both African American and in their mid-20’s. The male was 6′ with a thin build, wearing dark clothing. The female was short with a thin build, and was wearing dark clothing.
ASSAULT ON POLICE-ARREST 11/04/10, I-395 North at Washington Boulevard. On November 4 at 10 pm, an officer pulled a vehicle over for reckless driving. The driver was disorderly and assaulted the officer. Hoang Pham, 40, of Springfield, was charged with Assault on Law Enforcement, Resisting Arrest and Reckless Driving. He was held without bond.
ASSAULT ON POLICE-ARREST 11/06/10, 3200 block of N. Pershing Drive. On November 6 at 1:30 am, a man assaulted another man. When police arrive, the suspect also spit on an officer. Cayle Byers, 21, of an unknown address, was charged with Assault on Law Enforcement and Drunk in Public. He was held without bond.
ATTEMPT ROBBERY-ARREST 11/06/10, 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. On November 6 at 11 pm, a man attempted to rob another man of money by threatening him with a wine opener. Police located the suspect. Carlos Leyton, 28, of Alexandria, was charged with Attempted Robbery and Possession of a Fake I.D. He was held without bond.
ATTEMPT ROBBERY 11/08/10, 300 block of S. 23rd Street. On November 8 at 8 pm, a woman was walking through the underground mall when an unknown male approached her from behind. He attempted to steal her purse. During the struggle, the victim fell to the floor. The man fled without the purse. The suspect was wearing a brown jacket, jeans and green baseball cap. He was 5’11” and 175 lbs.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST 11/06/10, 4200 block of N. 4th Street. On November 6 at 12:20 am, a man assaulted his roommate. Evaristo Gomez-Lopez, 44, of Arlington, was charged with Assault and Battery. He was held without bond.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST 11/07/10, 300 block of Army Navy Diver. On November 7 at 1 am, two suspects assaulted a woman and her boyfriend standing outside a hotel. One suspect was apprehended. Joaquin Patino, 21, of Arlington, was charged with two counts of Assault and Battery. He was held without bond.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY 11/08/10, 2400 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. On November 8 at 10 pm, a man was walking down the sidewalk when an unknown man knocked him to the ground. The suspect also punched the victim. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20’s, 6’2″, 170 lbs with brown hair and a thick beard. He was wearing a Redskins jersey.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY 11/10/10, 1700 block of N. Utah Street. On November 10 at midnight, a man was dropping a woman off at her house when her ex-boyfriend assaulted him. The suspect is known.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY 11/09/10, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. On November 9 at 10:45 pm, a man was assaulted by a known subject in an alcove at a mall.
ATTEMPT BURGLARY 11/09/10, 1700 block of N. Glebe Road. On November 8 between 6:30 am and 7 pm, an unknown subject attempted to enter an apartment by prying the door. There is no suspect description.
ATTEMPT BURGLARY 11/09/10, 800 block of S. 18th Street. Between 3 pm on November 8, and 7:30 am on November 9, an unknown subject attempted to break into the maintenance room of an apartment building. There are no known suspects.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY 11/05/10, 600 block of N. Vermont Street. Between noon on November 1, and 10 am on November 5, an unknown person broke the door to the boiler room of a church. It appears that the suspect may have been sleeping in the room. There are no known suspects.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 11/04/10, 2600 block of S. Veitch Street. Between 6 pm on November 3, and 6 am on November 4, an unknown subject stole tires from two vehicles in the same parking garage. There are no known suspects.
