Arlington’s malls, bars and restaurants could have been mistaken for the set of the Jerry Springer Show over the past week, with five separate cases of violence or attempted violence.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST 12/16/10, 1000 block of S. Hayes Street. On December 16 at 3:30 am, a male employee of a department store assaulted a female employee. Brian Austin, 18, of Washington D.C., was charged with Assault and Battery. He was held on a $2,500 bond.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST 12/19/10, 3100 block of Wilson Boulevard. On December 19 at 2 am, a man fought with others inside a bar. The suspect knocked a woman to the ground during the struggle. Sean McCliggott, 24, of McLean, was charged with Assault and Battery. He was held on a $5,000 bond.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY 12/19/10, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. On December 19 at 4:25 pm, two women argued in a mall bathroom, and one slapped the other. The suspect is described as an African American female with a light complexion, 5’4″, and 115 lbs. She was wearing a pink sweater and jeans.
ASSAULT BY MOB 12/19/10, 2000 block of Wilson Boulevard. On December 19 at 1:30 am, several males assaulted another male outside a restaurant. The suspects were white males in their late 20’s to early 30’s.
ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING 12/18/10, 1100 block of N. Highland Street. On December 18 at 12:45 am, a man lunged at a bouncer with a knife when he would not the let the suspect in a restaurant for free. The suspect is described as a white male with blonde or red hair, 5’9″ and 200 lbs. He was wearing a brown plaid shirt and jeans.

ROBBERY 12/18/10, 200 block of S. 20th Street. On December 18 at 9 pm, two unknown males displayed a handgun and demanded money from a man walking down the sidewalk. The suspects were both African American males wearing dark clothing and ski masks.
LATE ROBBERY 12/17/10, 2000 block of Wilson Boulevard. On December 17 at 5 am, a delivery driver was assaulted by an unknown male. The victim handed over his cash and saw a second suspect displaying a handgun. The suspects fled. The driver did not call and report the robbery until his route was complete. The suspects were described as African American males in their 20’s. One suspect was 5’7″ with a thing build and wearing dark clothing including a hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect was 5’11” and also wearing dark clothing.
BURGLARY 12/15/10, 1400 block of S. 28th Street. On December 14 at 9 pm, a resident discovered items missing from his apartment. There are no known suspects.
BURGLARY 12/19/10, 4600 block of N. 13th Street. On December 9 between 6 am and 10 am, an unknown subject entered a residence and stole power tools.
BURGLARY 12/20/10, 2800 block of Arlington Boulevard. Between 3:30 pm on December 17, and 8:30 pm on December 19, an unknown subject entered an apartment. There is no suspect description.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY-ARREST 12/19/10, 3100 block of S. 13th Street. On December 19 at 7:20 am, an intoxicated man walked into an apartment without permission. The female homeowner pushed him out the door can called police. Ignacio Munzano, 23, of Oxen Hill, MD, was charged with Unlawful Entry and Drunk in Public. He was held until sober.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 12/16/10, 200 block of N. Glebe Road. On December 16, between 7 am and 2:30 pm, a subject removed commercial equipment from a restaurant.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 12/21/10, 2800 block of Potomac Avenue. On December 21 between 4 pm and 5:30 pm, an unknown subject broke into a locked office and stole construction tools. There is no suspect description.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 12/18/10, 800 block of S. Army Navy Drive. On December 18, between 7:30 pm and 8:40 pm, an unknown subject broke into at least three vehicles in the same parking garage and stole numerous items. There are no known suspects.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES) 12/15/10, 1800-1900 blocks of N. Dinwiddie Street and the 4700 block of N. 19th Street. On December 15, between 12:30 am and 5:30 am, an unknown subject vandalized at least thirty-five vehicles by slashing the tires. There are no known suspects.
