Crime Report: Cell Phone Snapper Arrested

A man was arrested Monday afternoon after police say he took photos of a 13-year-old girl in a dressing room. According to police, the 34-year-old took the photos with a cell phone camera he stuck under the dressing room door.

UNLAWFUL FILMING-ARREST 02/21/11, Unit block S. Glebe Road. On February 21 at 3:30 pm, an adult male was found taking pictures of a 13-year-old girl in a dressing room. He was apprehended by police. Jose Cabrera Orozco, 34, of Arlington, was charged with Unlawful Filming of a Minor. He was held without bond.

Also in this week’s Arlington County crime report are items from the rash of car break-ins we told you about earlier this week.

The reports below — which represent thefts from at least 26 cars — only show incidents in which more than one vehicle was broken into in the same area. Individual break-ins are not noted in the report.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/17/11, 400 block of S. Edgewood Street. Between 9 pm on February 16, and 8:30 am on February 17, an unknown subject entered at least seven unlocked vehicles. Various items were stolen.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/17/11, 800 block of Army Navy Drive. On February 17 between 12:45 pm and 10 pm, a suspect broke into at least two vehicles in the same parking garage. Various items were stolen from each. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/19/11, 800 block of N. Randolph Street. Between noon on February 18, and 11 am on February 19, a suspect broke into at least eight vehicles in the same parking garage. Various items were stolen from each. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/19/11, 3200 block of Wilson Boulevard. On February 19 between 6 pm and 11:30 pm, a suspect broke into at least two vehicles in the same parking lot. Various items were stolen from each. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/21/11, 4000 block of N. 20th Street. On February 20 between 9 am and 2:30 pm, a suspect entered at least two unlocked vehicles and stole items from each. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/21/11, 2300 block of S. 9th Street. Between 4 pm on February 20, and 10 am on February 21, a suspect entered at least two unlocked vehicles in the same neighborhood. Various items were stolen from each. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/22/11, 1000 block of N. Quincy Street. Between 8 pm on February 21, and 7 am on February 22, a suspect broke into at least three vehicles in the same address. Various items were stolen. There are no known suspects.

ROBBERY 02/17/11, 900 block of S. Highland Street. On February 13 at 3 pm, a woman was walking to her car when an unknown man pulled her purse from her shoulder and ran from the area. The suspect was a man with a dark complexion, 5’7″ and a slim build. He was wearing a white and blue striped shirt, a black baseball cap and jeans. The victim reported the robbery four days after it occurred.

ROBBERY 02/20/11, 900 block of N. Oakland Street. On February 18 at 10 pm, a man was walking his dog when he was approached by two unknown men. They suspects assaulted him and took his wallet. The victim reported the robbery two days after it occurred. The suspects are described as African American males in their 20’s wearing dark clothing.

UNLAWFUL WOUNDING-ARREST 02/19/11, 3100 block of Clarendon Boulevard. On February 9 at 12:45 am, a man struck another man in the head with a drinking glass after a pushing match in a bar. The suspect was apprehended. Thomas Mullen, 38, of Springfield, was charged with Unlawful Wounding. He was on a $10,000 bond.

ASSAULT BY MOB 02/21/11, 1900 block of S. George Mason Drive. On February 20 at 11:30 pm, an intoxicated man stated that he had been assaulted by two unknown African American men. He could not give any further details.

SEXUAL BATTERY 02/20/11, 900 block of S. Orme Street. On February 20 at 2:30 am, a woman claimed that an unknown man kissed her without her permission in a hotel elevator. The subject is described as a white male in his 40’s, 5’10” and 185 lbs. he was wearing a blue fleece pullover.

GRAND LARCENY OF AN AUTO-ARREST 02/13/11,200 block of S. Oakland Street. On February 16 at 10 pm, an officer initiated a traffic stop with a person driving a stolen vehicle. The suspect fled the car on foot and was apprehended. Jonathan Guevara-Campos, 18, of Arlington, was charged with Grand Larceny of an Automobile, Hit and Run and Driving without a License. He was held on $5,000 bond.

POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY-ARREST 02/19/11, 4000 block of Four Mile Run Drive. On February 19 at 11 am, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with stolen license plates. The driver was wanted out of a neighboring county for other crimes. Sharita Orr, 29, of Arlington, was charged with Possession of Stolen Property and Driving While Suspended. She was held on a $3,500 bond.

BURGLARY 02/19/11, 3700 block of N. Pershing Drive. Between 6:30 pm on February 18, and 10 am on February 19, an unknown subject broke into a house under renovation. Various items were stolen. There is no suspect description.

BURGLARY 02/20/11, 500 block of N. Highland Street. Between 6 pm on February 19, and 11 am on February 20, an unknown subject broke into a house under renovation and stole tools. There are no known suspects.

BURGLARY (SERIES) 02/22/11, 1500 block of S. Arlington Ridge Road. On February 22 between 10 am and 12:30 pm, an unknown subject broke into at least two apartments in the same building. There are no known suspects.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 02/21/11, 2800 block of S. Quincy Street. On February 21 at 1 am, an unknown subject set off an alarm at a business by breaking a window. Numerous cartons of cigarettes were stolen. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 02/22/11, 800 block of N. Quincy Street. Between 5:15 pm on February 18, and 11 am on February 22, an unknown subject stole a laptop computer from an office suite. There is no suspect description.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY 02/17/11, 6400 block of N. 24th Street. On February 17 between 11 am and 1:30 pm, an unknown subject attempted to break into a house. Entry was not gained and there is no suspect description.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY 02/22/11, 1500 block of S. Arlington Ridge Road. On February 22 at 1 pm, officers investigating a series of burglaries located an apartment that a suspect attempted to enter. There are no known suspects.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY 02/22/11, 1900 block of N. Rhodes Street. On February 22 between 1 pm and 9:30 pm, an unknown subject attempted to enter an apartment. Entry was not gained and there is no suspect description.
