How many people does it take to steal a cell phone and some cash in Ballston? Four, according to this week’s Arlington County crime report.
ROBBERY-ARREST, 06/23/11, 1100 block of N. Stafford Street. On June 22 at 11 pm, four men confronted and assaulted a man walking down the street. They stole his phone and some currency. Police located the suspects. Taha Bencherki, 20, of Washington D.C., Garland Mines, 25, of no fixed address, D’Lonte Fuller, 21, of Arlington, and Lamont Russ, 21 of Arlington, we all charged with Robbery. They were held without bond.

ATTEMPT ROBBERY, 06/26/11, 2300 block of N. 11th Street. On June 26 at 1 am, two women were walking when a man on a bicycle approached them from behind. The suspect rode up to one of the women and attempted to pull her purse off her shoulder. The victim struggled and the suspect rode off. The suspect was of an unknown race and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and long pants.ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 06/27/11, 2700 block of Clarendon Boulevard. On June 26 at 11 pm, a woman’s boyfriend assaulted her and physically removed her and her child from his apartment.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST, 06/2711, 1000 block of S. Frederick Street. On June 27 at 4 pm, a woman was assaulted by a man known to her. Warren Bouknight, 63, of Arlington, was charged with Assault and Battery and released on a summons to appear in court.
MISSILE INTO A DWELLING, 06/27/11, 1800 block of Columbia Pike. On June 27 at 11:20 am, an unknown subject threw a small type of smoke bomb into an occupied apartment. The victim was not injured and there are no known suspects.
BURGLARY, 06/22/11, 4300 block of Lee Highway. Between 11 pm on June 20 and 4 pm on June 22, an unknown subject entered an apartment and stole money. There are no known suspects.
BURGLARY, 06/22/11, 1000 block of N. Stafford Street. On June 22 between 4:40 pm and 7:40 pm, an unknown person broke into an apartment and stole numerous items. There is no suspect description.
BURGLARY-ARREST, 06/22/11, 3200 block of S. 24th Road. On June 22 at 10:30 pm, a man broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and assaulted her. Officers located the suspect, who was also wanted out of another jurisdiction. Timothy Ross, 51, of Arlington, was charged with Burglary. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY, 06/23/11, 3000 block of Spout Run Parkway. On June 23 at 3:30, an unknown male walked into an unlocked apartment. He fled when the elderly resident screamed. The suspect was a man with a dark complexion wearing a tan coat and dark pants.
BURGLARY, 06/23/11, 500 block of S. 14th Road. On June 23 between 6:30 pm and 11 pm, an unknown person broke into an apartment and stole several items. There is no suspect description.
BURGLARY, 06/24/11, 4500 block of N. 19th Road. On June 24 between 6 am and 2 pm, an unknown subject entered a house through a basement window. No items were stolen and there are no known suspects.
BURGLARY, 06/24/11, 1200 block of S. Eads Street. On June 24 at 9 pm, apartment residents discovered a burglary occurred. Various items were taken and there are no known suspects.
BURGLARY, 06/25/11, 1400 block of S. 21st Street. A resident stated that between 10 pm on June 24, and 6:30 am on June 25, an unknown subject stole some cash from his home office. There is no suspect description.
BURGLARY, 06/25/11, 1400 block of S. 22nd Street. On June 25 between noon and 9 pm, an unknown person forcibly entered a house and stole electronics. There are no known suspects.
BURGLARY, 06/26/11, 900 block of S. 28th Street. Between 6 pm on June 24 and 11 am on June 26, an unknown person stole a safe from a residence. There is no suspect description.
BURGLARY, 06/27/11, 2500 block of S. Hayes Street. On June 27 between 8:30 am and 7:30 pm, an unknown person broke into a residence and stole jewelry. There are no known suspects.
