Crime Report: Domestic Dispute

In this week’s Arlington County crime report, a man is wanted on felony charges after allegedly beating his wife. The incident took place in the Forest Glen neighborhood of south Arlington.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 04/01/13, 5600 block of S. 7th Street. At 9:30 am on April 1, a man struck his wife several times during a domestic dispute. The victim was transported to Virginia Hospital Center for non-life-threatening injuries that she sustained during the altercation. A warrant has been issued for the suspect on charges of felony malicious bodily injury and felony violation of a protective order.

ARMED ROBBERY, 04/02/13, 1300 block of N. Vernon Street. At 10:20 pm on April 2, two unknown subjects knocked a man off his bicycle on the Custis Bike Trail. The subjects then brandished a handgun. Both subjects fled the scene by foot. The victim was transported to Virginia Hospital Center with injuries that he sustained during the attack. The first suspect is described as a white male, around the age of 25, approximately 5’8″ tall and 185 lbs. Suspect one was wearing a dark puffy winter jacket and dark pants. The second suspect is described as a male of an unknown race, approximately 6’0″ tall and 200 lbs. Suspect two was wearing a dark jacket and dark pants at the time of the incident.

BRANDISHING FIREARM, 04/02/13, 1200 block of N. Abingdon Street. Shortly after 10 pm on April 2, two subjects attempted to knock a victim off his bicycle and block the Custis Bike Trail. The victim was able to ram one of the suspects back and break through to safety, but noticed one of the suspects brandishing a firearm. After the victim got to safety, he was able to report the incident to police. However, the suspects had already robbed and attacked another victim at a different location on the same bike trail.

ROBBERY, 04/02/13, 2100 block of N. 5th Street. At 8:34 pm on April 2, an unknown subject entered a store and stole a pack of cigarettes. When a store employee confronted the subject, the subject threatened to harm him. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’9″ tall and 170 lbs. At the time of the incident, the suspect was said to have short black hair, white glasses, a black/grey jacket, blue jeans, and was carrying a camouflage color bag.

BURGLARY, 03/28/13, 900 block of N. Taylor Street. Between 12:30 pm on March 27 and 8:30 am on March 28, an unknown subject(s) entered an apartment. The victim stated that cash was missing. Similar incidents have been reported in this area. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 03/28/13, 5100 block of N. Lee Highway. Between 10:20 pm on March 27 and 10:45 am on March 28, an unknown subject(s) forced entry into a business by breaking the front window. The unknown subject(s) stole three donation boxes containing an undetermined amount of cash. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 03/28/13, 3600 block of N. Piedmont Street. Between 11:30 am and 5:45 pm on March 28, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence and stole jewelry and several other items. There is no suspect(s) description.
