Crime Report: Peeping Tom at Ballston Common Mall

Police are on the lookout for a man seen peeking under a women’s bathroom stall at Ballston Common Mall.

The incident happened just before 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The crime and the suspect description is strikingly similar to that of another peeping tom incident at the Clarendon Barnes and Noble bookstore on May 24.

From this week’s Arlington County crime report:

PEEPING TOM, 06/10/13, 4200 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. At 5:50 pm on June 10, a male subject was caught looking at a female under the bathroom stall in the women’s restroom. The suspect fled the scene and is described as a white male in his early forties, approximately 5’7″ tall with a medium build. He had shaggy brown hair and was wearing a brown t-shirt and khaki pants.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 06/07/13, 4900 block of S. Columbia Pike. At 11:05 pm on June 7, a verbal dispute escalated and a subject cut a victim with a knife in the neck area. The victim sustained a minor laceration and refused medical treatment. The suspect fled the scene on foot and is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’0 tall and 115 lbs.

ATTEMPTED BANK ROBBERY, 06/10/13, 3700 block of N. Lee Highway. At 10:58 am on June 10, a suspect approached a teller at the SunTrust Bank and handed him a note demanding money and implied he had a weapon. The suspect fled the scene prior to receiving money. He is described as a black male in his late forties, with a medium build. He was wearing a red Washington Nationals hat, polo shirt with a blue rain jacket and blue jeans.

ATTEMPTED BANK ROBBERY, 06/10/13, 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. At 11:23 am on June 10, the same suspect from an earlier bank robbery attempt, approached the teller at the PNC Bank and handed her a note demanding money. The suspect fled the scene prior to receiving the money. The suspect is described as a black male in his late forties, with a medium build. He was wearing a blue Washington Nationals hat, polo shirt with a blue rain jacket and blue jeans.

BRANDISHING A FIREARM, 06/08/13, 3200 block of S. 24th Street. At 1:01 am on June 8, a subject approached the victim and pulled a handgun from his waistband during a verbal dispute. The suspect fled the scene and is described as a black male between 35-40 years of age, approximately 5’9″ tall and 170 lbs. He was wearing a black shirt with “thug life” in white writing at the time of the incident.
