Crime Report: Armed Robbery in Buckingham

A man was robbed at gunpoint in the Buckingham neighborhood early Saturday morning, according to police.

From this week’s Arlington County crime report:

ROBBERY, 08/17/13, 4300 block of N. Pershing Drive. At 12:30 am on August 17, a victim was allegedly approached by two subjects in all black clothing and instructed to lay on the ground at gunpoint. The victim was robbed of his debit card, passport and cell phone. The suspect with the gun is described as a 5’7″ tall, heavy set black female in her 20’s. The second suspect is described as a 6’1″ tall black male in his 20’s with an average build. Both were wearing zip up hoodies during the incident and remain at-large.

ROBBERY, 08/16/13, 1400 block of S. Hayes Street. Between 10:10 and 10:25 am on August 16, a subject placed five pairs of sunglasses into a bag and exited the store without paying. A loss prevention officer confronted the subject and was threatened. The suspect fled the scene and is described as a black male, between 35-45 years of age, 6’3″ tall and 240 lbs. He was wearing a yellow button-down shirt and dark jeans.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 08/18/13, 4800 block of S. Columbia Pike. At 10:45 am on August 18, an employee of a laundromat was assaulted and stabbed in the left arm with a screwdriver by a subject after the subject asked for change. The suspect fled the scene and is described as a younger Hispanic male, approximately 5’6″ tall. He was wearing a red t-shirt and blue shorts at the time of the incident.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 08/20/13, 4800 block of S. Columbia Pike. At 6 pm on August 20, a subject was seen masturbating behind a shopping center while looking at children on a playground. Jose Sanchez, 56, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure. He was issued a secured bond.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 08/21/13, 1500 block of N. Veitch Street. At 3:27 am on August 21, a subject exposed himself to police during a vandalism investigation. Paul Drayton Jr., 25, of Rockville, MD, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure.

PEEPING TOM, 08/18/13, 700 block of N. Cleveland Street. At 12:39 am on August 18, a female victim observed a male subject peering through her bedroom window. The victim alerted her roommate and he went to confront the subject. The subject dropped his bicycle and fled the scene. There is no suspect description.

STRANGULATION, 08/18/13, 1400 block of N. Garfield Street. At 2:06 am on August 18, an intoxicated subject assaulted two females outside their residence after they confronted him when he was entering their garage. The suspect forced both females to the ground and had one in a headlock before bystanders assisted. A bouncer from an adjacent bar held the subject until police arrived. Adam Quayle, 23, of Harrisonburg, VA, was arrested and charged with strangulation, two counts of assault and battery and one count of unlawful entry. He was held without bond.

BURGLARY, 08/17/13, 2000 block of N. Cameron Street. Between 6 am and 1 pm on August 15, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence and stole a HP laptop. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 08/18/13, 2100 block of N. Glebe Road. At 11:39 pm on August 17, two subjects were taken into custody after they were attempting to take materials from a construction site. James Kerby, 38, of Arlington, VA and Mario Buchanan, 40, of Hyattsville, MD, were arrested and charged with burglary. They were held on no bond.
