This week’s pet of the week is Bo, a 10-month-old Beagle mix rescue dog with a “spotted tongue” and affinity for soccer.
Here’s what owner Karen had to say about her playful pup:
Bo is a 10-month-old Beagle mix I adopted from Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation at an adoption event in September 2013. I brought my 18-year-old niece with me to PetSmart that Saturday afternoon to help me find my new dog. After saying hello to a few dogs, my niece brought my attention to Bo and it was love at first sight. He was a bundle of love and energy who reminded me of two previous family pets. When he yawned and revealed his spotted tongue I knew I wasn’t leaving without him.
Bo loves everyone big and small, young and old, two-legged and four-legged alike. Outdoors, his favorite pastimes include walks, where he puts his sniffing skills to work, and the dog park — where he loves wrestling, playing chase and tug-of-war. One-on-one, he loves playing keep-away with his soccer ball and any stick he comes across. Indoors he loves digging through his toy box to find his favorite squeaky, playing with empty water bottles, chasing the laser light, stealing the cat’s toys and lounging on the sofa. Not a day goes by where he fails to make me laugh or melt my heart.
Bo enjoys car rides because they usually mean a visit to “grandma’s,” the dog park, or his all-time favorite: doggie day care. 2013 was a challenging year for me so while I technically rescued him, in actuality Bo rescued me!
