Fade to Winter

For the 7th year, DC Adventure Films presents the latest ski film, this year’s offering is Fade to Winter. This film captures nine skiers who go to skiing extremes, featuring jaw-dropping action from around the world. Tickets are $9.
2015 Forum on Health, Homelessness, and Poverty
GMU Arlington Campus, Founders Hall
Time: 1-4 p.m.
This event is an academic conference bringing together researchers, policymakers and practitioners to reduce effects of homelessness and poverty on health to improve policy design and outcomes. The event is free, registration is online.

Global Strides AAH 5K
Tuckahoe Elementary School
Time: 8-9 a.m.
The Tuckahoe Elementary School and Arlington Traditional School PTA have come together to create opportunities for quality education for children in Uganda, through a 5k race and fundraiser. Registration is online and costs $25.

VFW Veterans Day BBQ celebration
VFW 3150 (2116 19th St. N.)
Time: 1-3 p.m.
Join is from 1 pm-3 pm as we have recognize the sacrifices made by veterans past and present. We will having BBQ made by our Texan commander and a special guest. All proceeds will go to helping veterans and their families in the Arlington area.
Wine-Food Thanksgiving Pairing

You’re invited to attend this tasting event featuring Chef Katie Gilman and Suzanne McGrath, wine educator and owner of The Curious Grape. They are hosting a sampling of wines that pair with Thanksgiving side dishes and desserts.
Benefit Concert for Syrian Refugee Children*
First Presbyterian Church, 601 North Vermont Street
Time: 7-9 p.m.
This free concert is an evening of music, with musical and dance performances including The Commonwealth Brass Quintet. The will go to Save The Children, specifically marked for humanitarian aid for Syrian refugee children.
