This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week, Corbin, had likely not seen snow in his former home of South Carolina, so the Snowzilla blizzard was an especially exciting time for him.
In addition to romp in the snow, Corbin is learning yoga with his owner Rachel, who’s an aspiring instructor. Here’s what Rachel had to say about Corbin, who’s not to be confused by a Bruce Willis character with a similar-sounding name.
Corbin is 3 year old (we think) Australian Shepherd who was rescued about 4 months ago by his owners and now best friends. Before his owners rescued him, he was living in South Carolina and had to swim to safety in Arlington due to the flooding of the southern region. He actually took a bus, but he likes to tell a more dramatic tale.
Corbin has settled in nicely in Arlington. Being from South Carolina, he had never seen snow until Snowzilla 2016 hit. He was in for quite a treat, and while skeptical at first, he eventually warmed up to the idea of romping and tunneling through all of the white stuff — even though in some parts the snow was higher than him!
One of Corbin’s favorite activities is hanging out with his owners whether is be laying on the couch with them or sleeping directly in between them at night. He also enjoys playing with his toys, eating treats, and learning new tricks such as shake which he hasn’t seemed to pick up on quite yet… a work in progress. He also loves spending time with his best doggie friend, Lou, another Australian Shepherd, owned by Corbin’s human grandparents. As his owner, Rachel, works towards becoming a yoga teacher, Corbin has been a wonderful student practicing his downward facing and upward facing dogs along side her.
