This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Dolly, a Goldendoodle puppy who’s a Virginia native.
Dolly lives in Courthouse and loves chewing sticks and making new friends. Here is what this friendly pup had to say for herself, as relayed by dog mom Colleen.
Hi – I’m Dolly! I’m a 6.5 month old Goldendoodle from Staunton, Virginia – my mom thinks she picked me out but really I picked her. I kept jumping into my mom’s arms and howled when she put me down so she would know we belong together. I try to keep the howling to a minimum now – usually I just do it to get attention.
Now I live in Courthouse and I love going for long walks in Clarendon and Courthouse and finding sticks to chew on. When I meet a new friend outside I usually like to play a bit but really I want to sit in the grass and chew as many sticks as possible! I try to say hi to everyone on walks because of course they came outside just to play with me – my mom tries to stop me but I just love meeting new people!
I love to play with my toys but mom’s shoes are so much better – I usually don’t damage anything but it’s fun to steal them and run around the house. I’ll do just about anything for a treat and I’m getting trained right now so that means I get A LOT of treats for doing silly things like sitting and paying attention to her. When I’m not outside I love to snuggle up on the couch, get belly rubs or see what my mom is making in the kitchen and see if anything fell to the floor!
