Arlington County Police reported two sexual assault incidents in the Rosslyn area in its Friday crime report.
One incident happened near the Iwo Jima memorial, as a woman was walking home from the Rosslyn Metro station around 10 p.m. Police say a man in a ski mask approached the woman, possibly exposed himself and grabbed her inappropriately.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, 160721005, 1200 N. Meade Street. At approximately 10pm a female was walking from the Rosslyn metro to her residence when she was approached by a white male wearing a ski mask. As the suspect approached he lifted his shorts up, possibly exposing himself. The victim walked away from the man, who then groped her in the crotch area. The man fled the scene and is described as a White or Hispanic male, 5’8″ with an athletic build, wearing a black ski mask, long sleeve shirt, silver basketball shorts, and black Vans sneakers.
The other crime happened around 6:30 p.m. on the 1700 block of Clarendon Blvd, near the intersection with N. Quinn Street.
SEXUAL ASSAULT, 160721043, 1700 N. Clarendon Blvd. At approximately 6:30pm a female was walking on Clarendon Blvd. near Quinn Street when a man on a bicycle approached her from behind and grabbed her breast. The suspect is described as a husky White male wearing a dark colored bike helmet, maroon shirt, gray khaki shorts and white shoes.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON POLICE, 160721007, 5700 S. 8th Road. Officers responded to a single vehicle accident. The driver refused to perform any sobriety tests and was taken to the Virginia Hospital Center where a search warrant was obtained to secure a sample of his blood for testing. During the transport from the hospital to the jail the driver spit on and kicked the arresting officer. Mr. Richard Bayliff, 23, of Arlington was arrested for DUI and Assault and Battery on Police.
BURGLARY, 160721025, 1300 Army Navy Drive. Residents of the home discovered several items missing from the residence when they returned they discovered forced entry and several items of value missing. A possible suspect was seen leaving the area, described as a black male in his 20’s or 30’s, tall and muscular, with tattoos on both arms, dressed in all white.
STOLEN VEHICLE, 160721026, 4300 s. Carlin Springs Road. A Bobcat MT55 was stolen from a construction site.
MISSILE AT AN OCCUPIED DWELLING, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, 160722004, 1200 S. Scott Street. A concrete block was thrown through a resident’s window and the tires to their car were slashed.
ROBBERY BY FORCE, 160722020, 1400 block of S. Joyce Street. At approximately 1:04 p.m. on July 22, two unknown male subjects approached a female victim from behind, striking her in the face and stealing her cellphone before fleeing the scene. The first suspect is described as a black male in his twenties, wearing a black shirt, jeans, and a black backpack. The second suspect is described as a black male in his twenties, wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.
BOMB THREAT, 160722034, 1300 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 4:33 p.m. on July 22, police responded to the report of a bomb threat. Multiple units responded to the scene and conducted a search for a device with negative results. There is no suspect(s) description.
BURGLARY, 160723026, 3200 block of N. 10th Street. Between 5:30 p.m. on July 22 and 8:30 a.m. on July 23, an unknown subject(s) forced entry into a building and stole several items of value. There is no suspect(s) description.
