Crime Report: Man Chokes Woman, Smashes Her Car’s Windshield

Police car (file photo)A Maryland man has been arrested and charged with choking and assaulting a woman, then smashing her car’s windshield.

The incident happened late Monday night into early Tuesday morning, in the Barcroft neighborhood near Columbia Pike.

Police say the man and the woman knew each other.

From an Arlington County Police Department crime report:

TAMPERING WITH AUTO (significant), 2016-11290004, 5100 block of S. 8th Road. At approximately 12:10 a.m. on November 29, officers responded to the report of tampering with auto. Upon arrival, it was determined that a male subject assaulted a known female victim. After two witnesses broke up the altercation, the suspect left the residence and shattered the windshield of the victim’s vehicle. Ryan Victor Lane, 33, of Cockeysville MD, was arrested and charged with assault & battery, strangulation, and tampering with auto. He is being held without bond.

LATE ATTEMPTED BREAKING & ENTERING, 2016-11290211, 2700 block of Washington Boulevard. Between 8:30 p.m. on November 23 and 7:30 p.m. on November 25, an unknown subject attempted to force entry into a business by damaging the building. The subject did not gain entry into the business. There is no suspect description.

ROBBERY, 2016-11280069, 2100 block of N. 15th Street. At approximately 7:30 a.m. on November 28, officers responded to the report of a larceny that had just occurred. A male subject entered a store and attempted to steal several items. When an employee confronted the subject, the subject threatened to harm the employee. The suspect then fled the scene with the merchandise. The suspect is described as a black male in his late twenties, approximately 5’5″-5’7″ tall with a smaller build. He was wearing a dark green jacket with a black hood, dark jeans, and white shoes.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2016-11280225, 2500 block of S. 9th Road. At approximately 4:30 p.m. on November 28, officers responded to the report of a burglary in progress. A known male subject gained entry into a female victim’s residence. After investigation, it was determined that the subject stole and used several of the victim’s credit cards. Frank Lukamilwa, 42, of an unknown address, was arrested and charged with unlawful entry, credit card larceny, and credit card fraud. He is being held on a secured bond.
