This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Kato, a husky who loves hiking and the outdoors. Here is what his owner, Ani, had to say about him:
This is Kato, a Siberian Husky and on October 20, he turned 3 years old. He really loves to travel. His home in Arlington, VA is the 4th one he’s lived in and by far his favorite. He plans on sticking around for a while.
Kato absolutely adores hiking. His mom is a teacher in Arlington and one of the subjects she teaches is social studies! Kato volunteers to climb mountains and hike trails all over Virginia so his mom can show her students pictures of him in the places they’re studying. He really likes to show off for all of the students and even has his own hiking backpack to carry his food and water. Kato has never met a trail he didn’t like. He’s even passed some bears and snakes, but knows to keep his distance!
Kato also loves making new friends — human and dog! He is always ready to share some puppy kisses or give a paw-five for a treat. His favorite things in the world are sweet potatoes and belly rubs. He’s really excited to be Arlington’s Pet of the Week, so make sure you say hello if you ever see him outside!
