The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Arlington and the D.C. region.
The winds are already causing tree branches to fall and at least one significant power outage in Arlington. Forecasters are warning of gusts around 45 miles per hour through 6 p.m. tonight.

WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING… THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON HAS ISSUED A WIND ADVISORY… WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING. * TIMING… THROUGH 6 PM THIS EVENING. * WINDS… NORTHWEST 20 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 45 MPH. * IMPACTS… GUSTY WINDS WILL BLOW AROUND UNSECURED OBJECTS.
