This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Basil, a 3-month-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
Here is what his owner Mike had to say:
Meet Basil — a sweet 3-month-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Basil was born in Pennsylvania but now enjoys living in Arlington.
Basil’s favorite thing about Arlington is all the other dogs! He enjoys meeting new friends while grabbing lunch in Shirlington and then heading to the dog park where he can put his natural herding instincts to good use.
When Basil isn’t out making new friends he enjoys staying at home and playing with his older sister Rutabaga. They love to wrestle and take naps. They are especially adept at destroying socks.
Basil is currently training for the American Kennel Club “Canine Good Citizen” test! He knows many tricks but is still working to master “go do the laundry” and “take out the trash.” What he lacks in homemaking skills he more than makes up for in cuddles and kisses.
Basil has brought so much joy to his new family in the first four short weeks that he has been home, and is sure to do the same for years to come.
