This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Wiggles, a three-year-old Siberian cat named for her balance challenges.
Here’s what her owner, Katherine, had to say:
Wiggles is our three year old Siberian cat. We adopted her in 2016 from a rescue in Annapolis, MD. Little did we know, she is well traveled but has been through a lot! Wiggles was born with mild cerebellar hypoplasia. She has difficulties with balance and wiggles her body when she walks (hence the name). When she gets excited, her head tremors and she can’t jump very high (but she tries her best!). Wiggles was born oversees by a breeder who threw her out of a car because no one would buy her due to her health condition. However, a cat rescue worker found her and nursed her back to health! A flight attendant who is connected with the rescue brought her oversees to the United States to be adopted which is when we met Wiggles!
Wiggles now leads a happy life watching birds and lounging around the house. She is very spoiled by her parents and loves trying all kinds of new cat food. She unfortunately has a grumpy face when taking pictures but is the sweetest cat in the world! We are so happy she is in our lives! Adopt, don’t shop!
