A man was robbed in a bathroom in the Buckingham neighborhood this past Sunday night.
Police say three men told the man he had left some belongings behind after leaving the bathroom of a local business, on N. Glebe Road just north of Route 50.
“When the victim reluctantly returned to the restroom, the suspects followed him, assaulted him and stole his personal belongings and an undisclosed amount of cash,” police said.

ROBBERY, 2019-04280253, Unit block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 8:42 p.m. on April 28, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was inside a business and had exited the restroom when he was approached by three male suspects who engaged him in conversation. The suspects convinced the victim that he had dropped something when he was in the restroom. When the victim reluctantly returned to the restroom, the suspects followed him, assaulted him and stole his personal belongings and an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects fled the business on foot prior to police arrival. Arriving officers canvased the area and a K9 track was initiated, and subsequently the victim’s belongings, with the exception of the cash, were located nearby. The victim suffered minor injuries. Suspect One is described as a black male, 18-25 years old, 5’11”-6’3″ tall, with a thin build, 150-180 lbs., with short, black hair, wearing a black shirt or hooded sweatshirt, and dark jeans. Suspect Two is described as a black male with short dreadlocks, 17-20 years old, 5’11”-6’0″ tall, with a thin build, approximately 150 lbs. and wearing a green hooded sweatshirt. Suspect Three is described as a black male, 17-20 years old, 5’11”-6’0″ tall, with a thin build, approximately 150 lbs. and wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.

WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2019-04260082, I-395 SB at Glebe Road. At approximately 8:20 a.m. on April 26, an officer on routine patrol effected a traffic stop on a vehicle for a window tint violation. The driver was issued a warning for the window tint violation. During the course of the investigation, the driver was determined to be a violent convicted felon and a subsequent consent search of the vehicle yielded a firearm and ammunition. Franklin Pettiford, 46, of Washington, D.C. was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon. He was held on no bond.
GRAND LARCENY (Significant), 2019-04270227, 2700 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 6:04 p.m. on April 28, police were dispatched to the report of three suspicious subjects inside of a business. Upon arrival, it was determined that the three subjects inside the store matched the description of suspects involved in a prior larceny at another one of the business’ other locations in Maryland. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that three suspects allegedly entered the store and Suspect One began to conceal merchandise inside of a bag while Suspect Two attempted to block her actions from view. The third suspect then exited the store and alerted the other suspects to the increasing police presence. The other two suspects subsequently exited the store. Suspect One then entered a neighboring business, where she discarded the bag of merchandise, which was later recovered by security. Arriving officers had already established a perimeter, and, after a brief foot pursuit, Suspects One and Two were detained. Units located the third suspect in the area and detained her without incident. Keniesha Guzman, 28, of Newark, N.J. was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny, Conspiracy to Commit Grand Larceny and Larceny with Intent to Sell. Javier Herrera, 38, of Newark, N.J. was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny, Conspiracy to Commit Grand Larceny and Larceny with Intent to Sell. Lanashie Greene, 22, of Newark, N.J. was arrested and charged with Identity Theft and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny.
PEEPING, 2019-04250088, 2300 block of 10th Street N. At approximately 8:50 a.m. on April 25, police were dispatched to the report of a peeping. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was inside her residence when she observed an unknown male suspect leaning against the window. The victim yelled at the suspect and hit the window, resulting in him fleeing prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a white male with dark eyes. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2019-04240074, 4100 block of 3rd Road N. At approximately 8:40 a.m. on April 24, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 8:40 a.m., the victim was inside a residence when she heard banging and observed a known male suspect attempting to force entry. The victim secured herself in a room while contacting police, however the suspect gained entry to the residence and verbally threatened the victim while kicking the door to the room she was in. Once quiet, the victim exited the room she was in and made contact with the suspect inside the residence. The suspect continued to threaten and pushed her until a neighbor assisted the victim in forcing the suspect outside of the residence, where he was taken into custody by arriving officers. The victim was not injured. Carlos Lopez, 58, of Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with Burglary, Unlawful Entry, Assault & Battery, Possession of Alcohol by an Interdicted Person and Trespassing. He was held on no bond.
