A 19-year-old who was driving without a license allegedly tried to flee after being pulled over by police, according to this week’s Arlington County crime report. The teen eventually crashed into a guardrail on I-395.
ATTEMPT MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST 11/02/10, 1900 block of S. Pollard Street. On November 1, an officer pulled over a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle drove away abruptly and almost struck the officer. The vehicle then crashed into a guardrail. William D. Jones, 19, of Alexandria was charged with Attempt Malicious Wounding, Disregarding a Police Order, Driving While Suspended, and Hit and Run. He was held without bond.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT-ARREST 11/02/10, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. On November 2 at 2:45 pm, a man was acting disorderly in a store. He would not comply with police and a tazer was deployed. Terry Cousar, 27, of Washington D.C., was charged with Disorderly Conduct and released on a summons.
ROBBERY-ARREST 10/27/10, 4300 block of N. Pershing Drive. On October 27 at 2:45 am, two men argued, and one subject robbed the other of a firearm. Police apprehended the suspect and located the weapon. Elmer Cruz-Gaitan, 21, of Arlington, was charged with Robbery and Possession of a Firearm while Committing a Felon. He was held without bond.
ROBBERY 10/29/10, 900 block of S. Buchanan Street. On October 29 at 11 pm, a woman was walking to her apartment when an unknown male displayed a weapon and demanded her purse. The suspect fled with the purse. He is described as an African American male in his 20’s, 5’7″ and 150 lbs. He was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
ROBBERY (SERIES) 10/31/10, 1500 block of Wilson Boulevard. On October 31 at 2 am, police were called to a fight. Two men stated that their wallets had been taken during the assault, but they were intoxicated and did not want to prosecute.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY 10/27/10, 2800 block of S. Randolph Street. On October 7 at 11 am, two subjects argued over money and one man assaulted the other.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST 10/29/10, 1600 block of S. Walter Reed Drive. On October 29 at 2 am, a woman assaulted a co-worker. Jessica Castillo, 22, of Alexandria, was charged with Assault and Battery. She was held on a $1,500 bond.
BURGLARY 10/29/10, 4500 block of N. 38th Street. On October 29 between 11:40 am and 2:45 pm, an unknown person entered a residence and stole jewelry. There is no suspect description.
BURGLARY 10/31/10, 2700 block of S. Veitch Street. On October 31 between 12:15 am and 4:15 am, a suspect broke into an apartment and stole various items. There are no known suspects.
ATTEMPT BURGLARY 11/02/10, 1000 block of S. Quinn Street. On October 31 between 1 pm and 4:30 pm, an unknown subject tampered with a doorknob. There are no known suspects.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY 10/31/10, 1000 block of N. Randolph Street. On October 31 at 4:30 pm, four unknown subjects were seen entering a vacant apartment. They fled without damaging anything. The suspects were all in their 20’s. Two of the suspects were white women, and the other two were African American men.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 10/27/10, 600-700 blocks of S. Taylor Street. Between 9 pm on October 26 and 7 am on October 27, an unknown subject entered at least four unlocked vehicles in the same neighborhood and stole various items. There is no suspect description.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES) 11/01/10, 1600-2200 blocks of N. Lexington Street and the 2400 block of N. Quantico Street. Between 9 pm on October 31, and 1 am on November 1, an unknown subject broke out the driver side window on at least twelve vehicles in the same neighborhood. There are no known suspects.
