This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is George, a curious kitten who’s currently hunkering down for his first winter.
Here’s what owners Scott and Jami had to say:
George is a 6-month-old Lynx Point Siamese kitten from the Rockingham County, N.C., Animal Shelter where his human grandmother volunteers. As his name might imply, George is as curious as the cartoon monkey. He recently experienced his first snow in the Columbia Forest neighborhood of Arlington. He spent the holidays meeting extended family and friends for the first time and managed to refrain from scaling the Christmas tree. (Author’s note: Good kitty!)
One of George’s favorite pastimes is stalking his beloved prey, a Carolina blue stuffed bear. He also enjoys waiting patiently for the ice maker gods to drop ice cubes from high above for him to scoot across the kitchen floor. George will likely be a writer-type when he grows up, as he can produce a pen from seemingly nowhere. They mysteriously go missing but George always seems to find them in the oddest places. After intense bursts of playful energy, George enjoys lounging by the fire or on the laps of his adopted parents, Scott and Jami.
