Crime Report: Armed Threats

In this week’s Arlington County crime report, a female escort is robbed by a man with a gun, and a man who threatened to get his gun is Tasered by police.

ROBBERY 12/08/10, 1200 block of N. Glebe Road. On December 8 at 12:15 pm, a man brandished a handgun and robbed a female escort in a hotel room. The suspect is described as an African American male, 5’9′ with a medium build. He was wearing a white shirt, black pants and black shoes.

ASSAULT ON POLICE-ARREST 12/14/10, 1200 block of S. Nash Street. On December 14 at 11:30 pm, a police officer towed a vehicle. The vehicle owner threatened to get a firearm from his residence, left the scene, and returned. When he did not comply with police commands, a tazer was deployed. John Pistolas, 47, of Arlington, was charged with Assault on Law Enforcement. He was held on a $1,000 bond.

BANK ROBBERY 12/14/10, 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. On December 14 at 2:10 pm, an unknown man implied a weapon at a bank to obtain cash. He then fled the scene. The suspect was an African American male wearing glasses, 6’2″ and 180 lbs. He was wearing a bright blue, puffy coat, multi-colored scarf, black knit cap, and dark pants.

ROBBERY 12/10/10, 900 block of S. Courthouse Road. On December 10 at 10:30 pm, a man was walking when he was struck from behind by an unknown subject. When he got off the ground, his cell phone and wallet had been stolen. There are no known suspects.

ROBBERY 12/12/10, 1000 block of S. Jefferson Street. On December 12 at 7 pm, a woman was walking and talking on her cell phone. When she walked by a group of three teenage Hispanic males, one of them stole her purse off her arm and fled the area. The suspect is described as 15 years old, 5’8″, wearing a white jacket.

ROBBERY 12/13/10, 1200 block of S. Fern Street. On December 13 at 8 pm, a man was approached from behind by two unknown men. The suspects assaulted the victim and stole his iPad. They were both tall, African American males around 18 years old. One suspect was wearing a puffy jacket with brown and red vertical stripes, and the other was wearing a black hat with a white band.

ROBBERY 12/14/10, 1900 block of S. Eads Street. On December 14 at 1 am, a woman was walking to her apartment when two unknown men confronted her. One suspect pointed a long gun at her while the other took her belongings. Both suspects were tall, African American males approximately 20 years old. One suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY 12/09/10, 5100 block of Lee Highway. On December 9 at 2:45 pm, a man was assaulted by two subjects known to him. One of the suspects owed the victim money.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY 12/11/10, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. On December 11 at 2 am, an unknown male assaulted a mall security guard. The suspect was a white mail, 6′ and 180 lbs with brown hair. He was wearing a green jacket, gray shirt and jeans.

BURGLARY 12/11/10, 1300 block of N. Pierce Street. On December 11 between 6 pm and 9:45 pm, an unknown subject forcibly entered an apartment and stole a computer. There is no suspect description.

BURGLARY 12/13/10, 1400 block of S. 28th Street. On December 13 between 7 am and 6:45 pm, an unknown subject entered an apartment and stole various items. There are no known suspects.

BURGLARY 12/14/10, 1400 block of S. 28th Street. Between 9:30 am on December 13, and 12:30 am on December 14, an unknown subject entered an apartment and stole various items. Another unit in the same building was the victim of a similar burglary. There is no suspect description.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 12/13/10, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. Between 4 pm on December 10 and 10 am on December 13, an unknown subject forcibly entered a business and stole a computer. There is no suspect description.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 12/14/10, 500 block of N. Randolph Street. On December 14 between 2:40 am and 3:15 am, two unknown subjects entered a restaurant and stole money. Both suspect were African American men wearing dark clothing.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 12/14/10, 4000 block of Fairfax Drive. On December 14 between 12:30 am and 10:30 am, an unknown subject entered a restaurant and stole money. There is no suspect description.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY 12/12/10, 2500 block of Fairfax Drive. On December 12 between 6:20 pm and 6:45 pm, an unknown subject attempted to enter an apartment by breaking a window. Entry was not gained. There are no known suspects.

GRAND LARCENY 12/08/10, 2600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. On December 8 at 5:20 pm, while a parking attendant was distracted, an unknown male stole the drawer from a cash register. The drawer was recovered intact a short time later. The suspect is described as an African American male in his 20’s, 5’7″ and 150 lbs. He was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES)-ARREST 12/11/10, 5900 block of Washington Boulevard. On December 11 at 10 pm, a man took a brick and damaged several cars, including a marked police cruiser. The suspect refused to drop the brick when challenged by police, and a tazer was deployed. Jose Villatoro, 20, of Alexandria, was charged with one felony county of Destruction of Property and two misdemeanor counts of Destruction of Property. He was held without bond.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 12/08/10, 1300 block of N. Stafford Street. On December 8 between 7 pm and 8 pm, an unknown subject forcibly entered at least four vehicles in a parking garage and stole various items. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 12/14/10, 800 block of N. Arlington Mill Drive, 800 block of N. Larimore Street, and 5700 block of N. 8th Street. Between 10 pm on December 13, and 6 am on December 14, an unknown subject broke into at least five vehicles in the same area and stole numerous items. There are no known suspects.
