This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Bowser, an Akita who likes bacon.
Here’s what Bowser’s owners, Sara and Wah Sun, had to say about him after translating his barks:
Hi. My name is Bowser. I am six years old and I’m an Akita. I’m originally from Houston (go Texans) but have been a Virginian for 2.5 years now. I moved to Arlington Forest a few months ago and I love it! My favorite things are walks, playing fetch, squirrels, rabbits, squeaky toys, lots of pets and belly rubs, and treats, treats and more treats. My favorite treat is bacon, because bacon, and my next favorite treat is meat. I recently got my humans to start rewarding me with bits of turkey bacon when I pay attention on walks, so life is great right now.
I’m told I’m the sweetest thing, and am very calm and gentle. I am a bit, well a lot, nosy and love to be a part of the action at all times. I’m an expert micromanager and make sure my humans wake up on time for my walk every morning. My new favorite place to walk is Lubber Run by my house; it’s so much fun to romp through the dirt and trees. I love to meet other humans on my walks, so if you see me come say hi!
