Crime Report: Stabbing and Armed Robbery

A man was stabbed and a gas station was held up over the weekend in Arlington, according to this week’s Arlington County Police Department crime report. An arrest was made in the stabbing, but the armed robbery suspect is still at large.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST 03/06/10, 4300 block of N. Henderson Road. On March 6 at 2 am, one man stabbed another man on the arm inside their apartment. Police apprehended the suspect. Roderico Sanchez-Mendez, 22, of Arlington, was charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond.

ROBBERY 03/07/10, 5600 block of Lee Highway. On March 7 at 11 pm, an unknown man entered a gas station displaying a handgun. He demanded money and received it before fleeing the store. The suspect was an African American male in his mid-20’s, 5’8″ to 5″10″ and 190 lbs. He was wearing all black clothing and was unshaven.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY 03/04/10, 3200 block of Columbia Pike. On March 4 at 6 pm, an unknown male assaulted a man riding a Metro bus. The suspect was a white Hispanic male, between 45 and 50 years of age, 5’8″ and 185 lbs. He was wearing a white baseball cap, a puffy blue jacket, jeans, and carrying a white backpack.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY 03/06/10, 1600 block of Walter Reed Drive. On March 6 at 8 pm, an unknown man assaulted two men at a restaurant. The suspect is a white Hispanic male, mid-20’s and 5’10” with a large build. He was wearing a black jacket, jeans, and had long dark hair.

INDECENT EXPOSURE 03/07/10, 600 block of N. Manchester Street. On March 7 at 9:15 am, a woman was running on a bike trail when she witnessed an unknown male expose himself. The suspect was a white male, 5’8″ to 5’10” with a slim build. He was wearing a dark knit ski mask over his face and a dark shirt.

INDECENT EXPOSURE 03/09/10, 1900 block of N. Vanderpool Street. On March 9 at 9:50 pm, a woman was walking on a bike trail when she witnessed an unknown male expose himself. The suspect was 5’8″ and160lbs. He was wearing all dark clothing and appeared to have a black hooded sweatshirt pulled up over his fast.

BURGLARY 03/06/10, 500 block of S. 14th Road. Between 11 pm on March 5, and 9 am on March 6, an unknown person entered an unlocked apartment and stole various items. There are no known suspects.

BURGLARY 03/09/10, 2000 block of S. Langley Street. Between 10 pm on March 8, and 7:30 am on March 9, an unknown subject forcibly entered the basement of a residence. The suspect did not gain entry to the rest of the house. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 03/08/10, 4900 block of S. Chesterfield Road. On March 8 between 7 pm and 8 pm, an unknown subject broke into at least two vehicles in the same area. A GPS unit was stolen from one vehicle. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 03/09/10, 3100-3200 blocks of N. 1st Street. Between 6 pm on March 8, and 8 am on March 9, an unknown subject broke into at least three vehicles and various items including coins left in the cars. There is no suspect description.
