Despite the weather, the first community wide drop off for the Arlington Realtors Care (ARC) initiative, held on Saturday, Dec. 9 was a great success. ARC is sponsoring a second community wide drop off date scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 16 at RGS Title.
For members of the public interested in contributing outerwear, blankets and food items in support of the Arlington Realtors Care Drive (ARC), donations can be made at RGS Title located at 4600 Lee Highway, Suite 110, Arlington. Collection hours are 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. Donated items will continue to be delivered from the participating ARC partners to individual charitable organization.
Clothing items will be delivered to A-SPAN, an organization that strives to end homelessness in Arlington through housing and ongoing case management. A-Span’s current needs are sneakers, NEW socks, winter-wear (gloves, scarfs, beanies), NEW underwear and bras, blankets and backpacks. Items should be new, cleaned or recently laundered.
Food donations will be delivered to The Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), a community-based non-profit that provides supplemental groceries to Arlington residents. AFAC accepts most unopened, unexpired, and unprepared foods, including perishable items. The organization is most in need of low sodium tomato products (diced, paste, & sauce), low sodium canned tuna, low sodium canned soups, low sodium canned beans, low sugar cereal and cooking oil.
ARC is comprised of 8 real estate firms and RGS Title who have joined forces to provide winter essentials for those in need throughout the Arlington community. The drive continues through Dec. 31.
Participating real estate firms are Advon Real Estate, Brock Realty, Buck & Associates, Coldwell Banker, Compass, Long and Foster, Realtors | Christie’s International Real Estate, TTR | Sotheby’s International Realty, and Weichert, Realtors.
