This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Tia, a 15-year-old retired cat who loves to cuddle.
Here’s what Tia’s owners, Matthew and Maureen, had to say on her behalf:
Hi! My name is Tia Monster and I’ve been living in Arlington for a year with my owners Matthew and Maureen. I’m 15 years old but I don’t act like it! My favorite thing in the world is to be around people, all the time. I love to be pet and to spoon on the couch with my owners. I think the hallway outside my condo is really interesting but I don’t like to wander too far away.
I will do anything for wet food (especially tuna — which Maureen hates) or treats. I hate when my owners dress me up like a shark or try to hold my paws. I love to talk to my owners and I’m sure to give them an earful if they are gone for too long or haven’t fed me fast enough. I never forget a meal. I’ve learned to employ many tactics to get the attention of my owners. From sitting on their keyboards when they are working from home to putting my paws on their books when they’re trying to read — I’m always sure to make my presence known!
They say that cats have nine lives and I’ve already used up a few of them while living with Matthew’s sister and her six kids (and a dog). But now I’ve decided to retire in Arlington where I get all the cuddles I can handle (and no dogs). I can’t imagine a better place to spend my retirement and my owners couldn’t be happier that I came to live with them. My owners are getting married in a few months but I know I’ll always be first in their hearts!
