This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Gertie, a 3-year-old shih tzu who loves making new friends.
Here’s what owner Amy had to say on Gertie’s behalf:
Hi I’m Gertie, a three year old Shih-Tzu dubbed the “Friendliest Dog on the Block” by my peeps in my South Arlington neighborhood. I love to get to know any other dog or human alike, and sometimes to the embarrassment or my mom I will jump up to say hi or give some wet kisses if allowed!
In my free time I love to go on rides in the car. Sometimes I even get to go sit outside William Jeffry’s Tavern or go to Home Depot and sit in the cart! I also enjoy long walks around Thomas Jefferson Middle School, splashing around in my dog pool, and playing with my toys (especially my rubber chicken). Most of all I like hanging out with my 2.5 year old human sister. If you ever see me come up and say hi. Did I mention I’m the friendliest dog on the block!?
