This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is General Georgie Patton, a golden retriever who shares a name with a World War II-era general.
This what her owner, Erin, had to say:
Named for General George Patton, 4 year old golden retriever Georgie Patton — or General Georgie — loves everything, except for the neighborhood cats. Her favorite things to do include napping under her mom’s bed, patrolling the backyard for cats and squirrels, playing fetch with the dirtiest tennis ball in the yard, swimming in the creek and fountain at Marymount University, and smiling. Georgie has never met a human, dog, or food she hasn’t liked.
When she isn’t protecting her backyard or receiving pets from everyone, she is learning sign language (she knows the sign for sit!)! She loves to say hi to everyone, so much that her humans often have to ask passerby if she can say hi to them. Georgie loves her dog-friendly community and is honored to be ARLnow’s Pet of the Week! Keep up with Georgie on her Instagram, @General.Georgie
Thanks!
Erin Patton
