A man was arrested early Sunday and charged in a pair of robberies in the Crystal City area.
Police say 41-year-old Christopher Uglialoro first robbed a business at knifepoint on the 1800 block of Jefferson Davis Highway, around 1:45 a.m. He then robbed another nearby business, on the 400 block of 23rd Street S., around 2:15 a.m., according to police.
In each incident, police say Uglialoro acted disorderly, damaging items and throwing merchandise. He was located and arrested “without incident” shortly after the robberies, according to this week’s Arlington County Police Department crime report.
The 400 block of 23rd Street S. is home to a 7-Eleven store. Police typically do not identify the victims of crimes and in this case did not say which businesses were robbed.

ROBBERY, 2019-06160036, 1800 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. At approximately 1:46 a.m. on June 16, police were dispatched to the report of a disorderly subject. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect allegedly entered the business and began acting disorderly and tampering with items. When an employee approached him, he produced a knife, and demanded cash. The suspect then stole an undisclosed amount of cash and continued to tamper with and damage items inside the business before fleeing prior to police arrival. Officers canvased the area and located the suspect based upon the description provided in a lookout. The suspect was positively identified and taken into custody without incident. ROBBERY, 2019-06160046, 400 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 2:15 a.m. on June 16, police were dispatched to the report of a disorderly subject inside a business. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect allegedly entered a business, went behind the counter and began throwing merchandise. When confronted by an employee, the suspect became irate and threatened the employee, before grabbing merchandise and fleeing the scene prior to police arrival. Officers were already in the area canvasing to locate a suspect in a separate robbery case (2019-6160036), when a lookout was broadcast. The suspect in the prior robbery case was subsequently determined to be involved in this case. Christopher Uglialoro, 41, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Robbery.

ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT, 2019-06180262, I-395 SB at Washington Boulevard. At approximately 10:45 p.m. on June 18, an officer on routine patrol observed an improperly stopped vehicle on the highway and effected a traffic stop. Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, the officer observed the three occupants engaged in a verbal dispute. The officer instructed the occupants to cease their dispute and show their hands. The driver and one passenger complied, however, the third continued to yell, threatening another occupant, and disobeyed multiple lawful commands from the officer to comply. The suspect refused to exit the vehicle and actively resisted when the officer attempted to remove her from the vehicle. A brief struggle ensued, in which the suspect struck the officer multiple times. With the assistance of additional arriving officers, the suspect was taken into custody, but continued to actively resist once placed in handcuffs. Selena Rosa, 22, of Clinton, Md., was arrested and charged with Assault & Battery on Law Enforcement and Obstruction of Justice.
ROBBERY, 2019-06180251, 1500 block of Crystal Drive. At approximately 10:21 p.m. on June 18, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was walking in the area when she was approached by a group of four teenagers asking for change. When the victim declined, the group of suspects circled around her and attempted to grab the victim’s personal belongings. A brief physical struggle ensued and the suspects were able to steal some of the victim’s belongings, which were later recovered nearby. Arriving officers canvased the area with negative results. The suspects are described as two black males and two black females, all ages 12-15. The investigation is ongoing.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2019-06170091, 900 block of N. Pollard Street. At approximately 9:44 a.m. on June 17, police were dispatched to the report of stabbing. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect was inside a business and allegedly became irate when asked to leave by an employee and a verbal dispute ensued. As the suspect was exiting the business, he became engaged in a physical altercation with another employee. The suspect produced a knife and swung it at the employee, causing a laceration. The suspect then exited the business and fled on foot prior to police arrival. Arriving officers located the suspect in the area and he was taken into custody without incident. The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Gregory Taylor, Jr., 40, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held on no bond.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2019-06140267, 4600 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 9:54 p.m. on June 14, police were dispatched to the report of breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim arrived home and allegedly located an unknown male asleep inside his residence. Arriving officers located and detained the suspect. Samuel Weaver, 25, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry and Drunk in Public.
BURGLARY (late), 2019-06130085, 2600 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 10:00 a.m. on June 13, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 1:28 a.m. an 1:40 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) gained entry to a business and stole items of value. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2019-06120229, 1500 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 8:20 p.m. on June 12, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that an unknown male suspect gained entry to a business, approached an employee and brandished a firearm. The suspect forced the employee to the ground and demanded cash before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocks, wearing all black clothing and a black mask. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2019-06130095, 3200 block of 1st Place North. At approximately 11:44 a.m. on June 13, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just discovered. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim returned to his residence and noticed multiple items missing. During the course of the investigation, officers searched the residence and located a known male suspect inside. Ranado Braswell, 45, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Burglary and Grand Larceny.
MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING, 2019-06120027, 4400 block of S. Four Mile Run. At approximately 3:20 a.m. on June 12, police were dispatched to the report of destruction of property. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was awoken by the sound of glass breaking and located a rock that had been thrown through a window, causing it to shatter. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
