Men in various states of nudity caused quite a bit of trouble over the past week. This week’s Arlington County crime report lists five separate indecent exposure cases, including two arrests.
EXPOSURE-ARREST, 09/23/11, 2400 block of Arlington Boulevard. On September 23 at 4:45 am, an officer witnessed a man running nude on the highway. Mark Dewitt, 48, of Arlington, was charged with Indecent Exposure. He was held on a $3,000 bond.
EXPOSURE-ARREST, 09/23/1, 2300 block of Walter Reed Drive. On September 23 at 1:50 pm, a man was seen exposing himself on a bike trail. Russell Bixby, 48, of no fixed address, was charged with Indecent Exposure and released on a summons.
EXPOSURE, 09/23/11, 3200 block of Arlington Boulevard. On September 23 at 7:40 am, a man was jogging and suddenly stopped in front of three teenage girls. He acted as if he was going to tie his shoe, but exposed himself instead. The girls went to school and reported the incident. The suspect is described as a white male, 5’8″, and 165 lbs. wearing black running shorts and a baseball cap.
EXPOSURE, 09/25/11, 1300 block of N. Meade Street. On September 25 at 8:20 pm, a woman was walking and noticed a man walking behind her who was exposing himself. The suspect was 25 year-old a white male, 5’10” wearing a light colored shirt, dark pants, and large glasses.
EXPOSURE, 09/25/11, 1500 block of N. Rhodes Street. On September 25 at 9 pm, a man approached a woman sitting on a step smoking a cigarette. He touched her leg and when she pulled away, he exposed himself. The suspect was a white Hispanic male in his mid-20’s, 5’5″ and 150 lbs. He was wearing an orange baseball cap, blue t-shirt and dark shorts.
Also this week, a woman who got into a vehicle she initially thought was a taxicab was touched inappropriately by the driver. Later, she realized the car was, in fact, probably not a taxi.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 09/25/11, 4600 block of Washington Boulevard. On September 25 at 2:30 am, a woman reported that she got into a car in Washington D.C., assuming it was a taxi. She sat in the front seat and the driver touched her breasts. She fled the car at her designation, and now believes the vehicle was not a taxi. The suspect is a white Hispanic male in his mid-40’s, 5’7″ and 180 lbs.

ROBBERY, 09/26/11, 5100 block of Columbia Pike. On September 26 at 12:45 am, a group of unknown men pushed a man off his bicycle and then stole the bicycle. The bicycle was later located and returned to the victim. There is no suspect description.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 09/22/11, 3200 block of S. 24th St. On September 22 at 3:30 pm, a man assaulted and stole money from his former girlfriend.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST, 09/23/11, 4000 block of N. 5th St. On September 22 at 11 pm, a man assaulted a female towing company employee. Mark Allan Bruzonnsky, 62, of Washington D.C., was charged with Simple Assault. He was released on his own recognizance.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 09/23/11, 4800 block of Columbia Pike. On September 23 at 3 am, an intoxicated male was seen punching doors and throwing trashcans into the street. He told police that three Hispanic men had assaulted him, but that they did not take any of his belongings.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST, 09/25/11, 500 block of S. 23rd Street. On September 25 at 1 am, two men assaulted a third male. One suspect was located that evening and arrested, the second was later identified. Brandon Yetman, 22, of Danville, was charged with Assault and Battery. He was held on a $1,000 bond.
MISSILE INTO AN OCCUPIED VEHICLE-ARREST, 09/22/11, 2600 block of Columbia Pike. On September 22 at noon, two men had a verbal disagreement over a parking space. When one man started to drive away, the other threw a box cutter at his car, striking it. William Valle, 39, of Woodbridge, was charged with Missile into an Occupied Vehicle. He was held on a $3,000 bond.
BURGLARY, 09/21/11, 1200 block of N. Fillmore Street. Between 7:15 pm on September 20, and 8 am on September 21, an unknown person broke into an office suite and stole laptop computers. There is no suspect description.
BURGLARY, 09/24/11, 1300 block of N. Roosevelt Street. On September 24 between 6:15 pm and 10 pm, an unknown person broke into a house and stole various items. There is no suspect description.
BURGLARY, 09/25/11, 1000 block of N. Randolph Street. On September 25 between 9 am and 9 pm, an unknown subject entered and apartment and left a candle burning on a table. There are no known suspects.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 09/26/11, 4800-5000 block of N. 26th Street. Between 9 pm on September 25, and 6:30 am on September 26, an unknown subject damaged vehicle windows on at least four cars in the same neighborhood. There is no suspect description.
