See the Light at Gallery Underground

(This Community Post was written by Studio 10 Artists, a Creative Collaborative, and underwritten by Embracing Arlington Arts.)

After a dark year, we’re beginning to see a little light around us.

Over these past months, five local artists sought creative inspiration as a guide out of darkness into the light. These painters — Elisabeth Hudgins, Kat Jamieson, Linda Maldonado, Elise Ritter and Deborah Taylor — formed the Arlington-based collaborative, Studio 10 Artists, and met via weekly Zooms to discuss, explore and create a new exhibition entitled “Ambient Light.”

“Ambient” light is the atmosphere that surrounds and illuminates any environment. Using their own style, unique vision, and medium of choice (watercolor, oil, acrylic, collage and ink), these artists have interpreted ambient light in various ways: physical and spiritual; external or internal; real or imagined.

This show will have several viewing opportunities:

  • From March 1-26 the exhibit will be on view at Gallery Underground in the Crystal City shops at 2100 Crystal Drive, accessible by Metro’s blue line, Crystal City stop. 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday.
