Crime Report: Shooting Arrest

From this week’s Arlington County Police Department crime report we highlight this case of a man who was shot near the Green Valley Pharmacy during an argument.

Police were first alerted to the shooting when the man was dropped off at the Virginia Hospital Center ER with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. After a short investigation, police were able to find and arrest the suspect — which wasn’t too hard because he was still hanging out near where the shooting occurred.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST 05/10/10, 2400 block of S. Shirlington Road. On May 9 at 11:50 pm, two men argued and one man shot the other in the leg. Police located the suspect. Michael Nash, 57, of no fixed address was charged with Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted felon. He was held without bond.

ROBBERY 05/06/10, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. On May 6 at noon, two subjects entered a store at a mall. They stole sunglasses and assaulted a store employee while fleeing. The suspects are both African American men. The first suspect is in his 40’s, 5’10” and 180 lbs. He was wearing jeans and a grey t-shirt. The second suspect was in his 30’s and 6′ tall. He was wearing jeans, a black baseball hat and glasses.

ROBBERY 05/11/10, 4200 block of N. Pershing Drive. On May 11 at 11:10 pm, a woman was walking when an unknown female assaulted her and stole her purse. The suspect then ran to a dark colored mini-van and drove away. The suspect is described as an African American female in her 30’s with a tall build. She was wearing a dark multi-colored top and dark pants tucked into brown knee-high boots.

ASSAULT ON POLICE-ARREST 05/09/10, 2700 block of S. Glebe Road. On May 9 at 2:45 am, an intoxicated woman assaulted a police officer and refused to identify herself. She was charged with Assault on Law Enforcement, Failure to Identify and Drunk in Public. She was held on a $3,000 bond.

EXPOSURE 05/06/10, 2000 block of Wilson Boulevard. On May 6 at police located an intoxicated man that was exposing himself to citizens. Darrell Bullard, 36, of no fixed address, was charged with Indecent Exposure and Drunk in Public. He was held without bond.

EXPOSURE 05/07/10, 1200 block of N. Wayne Street. On May 7 at midnight, an unknown male exposed himself outside an apartment window. The suspect was a white male in his 20’s, 5’9″-5’10” and190 lbs. He was wearing a dark short sleeve polo shirt and dark jeans.

PEEPING TOM 05/11/10, 1600 block of N. Jefferson Street. On May 11 at 10:50 pm, a man was seen looking in the window of an apartment. There is no suspect description.

TAMPERING-ARREST 05/12/10, 2200 block of N. Somerset Street. On May 11 at 11:50 pm, police located a female seen tampering with several vehicles. Colleen White, 20, of Arlington, was charged with Attempted Trespass of a Vehicle and Underage Possession of Alcohol. She was released on a summons.

BURGLARY 05/05/10, 800 block of N. Glebe Road. On May 5 between 10 am and 11:30 am, an unknown person entered an apartment and stole a computer and a wallet. There are no known suspects.

BURGLARY 05/06/10, Unit block of N. Irving Street. Between 6 pm on May 2, and 7 pm on May 6, an unknown person forced access into the porch of a residence. There are no known suspects.

BURGLARY 05/07/10, 1900 block of Columbia Pike. On May 7 at 7:20 am, an unknown subject entered a secure laundry room and broke into a coin operated dryer. There are no known suspects.

BURGLARY 05/11/10, 2600 block of N. Pershing Drive. Between 5 pm on May 10, and 6:20 am on May 11, an unknown subject broke into a business by smashing a glass window. There is no suspect description.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY 05/08/10, 200 block of N. Piedmont Street. On May 8 at 10:15 pm, an unknown subject opened a bedroom window of an apartment. The suspect fled when confronted. The suspect is a white Hispanic male, 18 years old with a thin build. He was wearing a blue t-shirt.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 05/06/10, 2300 block of S. Queen Street and 2600 block of S. Adams Street. Between 10 pm on May 5, and 8 am on May 6, an unknown subject entered at least four vehicles and stole various items. Several of the cars were left unlocked. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 05/06/10, Arlington-East Falls Church Neighborhood. Between 9:30 pm on May 5, and 6 am on May 6, an unknown person entered at least four unlocked vehicles. Various items were stolen. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 05/06/10, 2300 block of S. Queen Street and 2600 block of S. Adams Street. Between 10 pm on May 5, and 8 am on May 6, an unknown subject entered at least four vehicles and stole various items. Several of the cars were left unlocked. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 05/10/10, 2000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. On May 10 between 11 am and 4 pm, an unknown subject entered at least two vehicles and stole various items. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 05/11/10, 2200 block of N. Somerset Street. Between 9 pm on May 10, and 8:30 am on May 11, an unknown subject entered at least seven vehicles in the same neighborhood and stole various items. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 05/11/10, 1100 blocks of S. 19th and S. 20th Streets. Between 5:30 pm on May 10, and 8 am on May 11, an unknown subject entered at least two unlocked vehicles. There are no known suspects.
