Crime Report: Road Rage Edition

Getting into fender bender is never fun. But it’s even less fun when the other driver pulls out a razor and tries to cut you with it. That’s what happened to one man on Tuesday, according to this week’s Arlington County Crime Report.

The victim’s clothing was torn but he was otherwise uninjured.

ATTEMPT MALICIOUS WOUNDING 08/10/10, 5600 block of N. Carlin Springs Road. On August 10 at 3 pm, a man reported to have been assaulted with a box cutter. The encounter occurred after a minor accident involving the victim and suspect. The suspect is described as a 35-year-old white Hispanic male, 5’8″ to 5’9″ and 200 lbs.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING 08/06/10, 3500 block of S. 23rd Street. On August 6 at 11 am, a man was assaulted by a known subject. The victim was punched and kicked several times, causing severe wounds to his face.

ROBBERY 08/07/10, 1800 block of N. Veitch Street. On August 7 at 11:30 pm, a woman was pushed down from behind and her purse was stolen. The suspect implied a weapon when the woman’s boyfriend attempted to approach him. The suspect is described as a 30-year-old African American male, 5’9″ and 170 lbs, with brown eyes and black hair. He was wearing a green t-shirt with a colorful graphic on the front.

ROBBERY 08/07/10, 2700 block of Clarendon Boulevard. On August 7 at 5:30 pm, an unknown man entered the Apple Store, concealed several phones and assaulted a female employee when he left the store. The suspect is described as an African American male in his twenties, 5’10” and 150 lbs. He was last seen wearing a grey or white t-shirt with blue shorts.

ROBBERY 08/09/10, 1000 block of S. Joyce Street. On August 8 at 10 pm, a man was approached by two unknown men. One of the suspects pushed the victim to the ground and the second male took his wallet. The suspects were described as African American males, 6′ tall and in their twenties. They were last seen wearing black shirts and blue jeans.

ROBBERY 08/10/10, 4600 block of S. 36th Street. On August 10 at 12:45 am, a woman was approached from behind by three African American males in their twenties. One of the suspects stole the victim’s purse from her shoulder. The first suspect was 5’5″, thin, and wore a bandana, black t-shirt and baggy jeans. The second suspect was 6’2″ and thin with dark hair. The third suspect was 5’8″ with shoulder length dreadlocks, a white tank top, baggy jeans and a hat.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY 08/09/10, 1400 block of N. Barton Street. On August 9 at 4 pm, a man was carrying computer equipment when two unknown men approached him and tried to forcefully steal his laptop. The victim fought them and they ran away. The suspects were both white Hispanic teenagers. One suspect was wearing a white tank top, jeans and had a shaved head. The second suspect was wearing a blue tank top, blue shorts and he had spiked hair.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST 08/04/10, 2300 block of N. Pershing Drive. On August 4 at 1:15 pm, a manager pushed one of his employees. Wesam Hashish, 35, of Sterling, was charged with Assault and Battery. He was released on a summons at the scene.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST 08/06/10, 1700 block of N. Lynn Street. On August 6 at 6:30 am, a garage attendant was standing between a garage door and a car explaining the hours of the garage when the suspect struck him with his vehicle. Evelio Velasco, 63, of Centreville, was released on a summons for Assault and Battery.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY 08/10/10, 2700 block of S. Cleveland Street. On August 10 at 9:40 pm, a woman was assaulted by a known acquaintance of her daughter. The victim was pushed and scratched by the suspect.

SEXUAL BATTERY 08/04/10, 2600 block of N. 9th Street. On August 4 at 10 pm, a woman was walking down the sidewalk when an unknown man approached her. The suspect grabbed the victim’s breast, and then fled when she screamed. The suspect is described as an Asian male, 5’6″ and 130 lbs.

PEPPING TOM 08/05/10, 5300 block of N. Carlin Springs Road. On August 5 at 3:40 am, a man awoke to find an unknown man standing in the window well outside his bedroom, looking inside. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20’s with an average build. The suspect left the scene in a dark sedan.

PEEPING TOM-ARREST 08/07/10, 4100 block of Henderson Road. On August 7 at 5 am, a man reported that he observed a male looking into several windows. Javier Ramirez-Ramirez, 25, of Arlington, was charged with Peeping into an Occupied Dwelling. He was held on a $3,500 bond.

BURGLARY 08/06/10, 2800 block of Washington Boulevard. Between 8 pm on August 5, and 9 am on August 6, an unknown subject used force to break into the car dealership and stole fifteen car keys. There are no known suspects.

BURGLARY 08/09/10, 1700 block of S. Arlington Ridge Road. Between 1 pm on August 7, and 5:30 pm on August 8, an unknown suspect forced entry into the victim’s home and stole two laptops and a vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered, but there are no known suspects.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY 08/05/10, 2300 block of N. 11th Street. Between 11:30 pm on August 4, and 8:30 am on August 5, an unknown subject tried to enter an apartment by breaking a window. There is no suspect description.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY 08/06/10, 1900 block of N. Quebec Street. On August 6 between 6:30 am and 6:15 pm, an unknown subject entered a house through an open window. No property was taken and there are no suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 08/10/10, 4600 block of Four Mile Run Drive. Between 8 pm on August 9, and 3:45 am on August 10, an unknown suspect broke into two vehicles and stole stereos.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES) 08/10/10, 3300 block of S. Wakefield Street. Between 10 pm on August 9, and 9 pm on August 10, an unknown suspect broke the rear windows of two vehicles parked in the area. No items were taken and there are no known suspects.
