A missile flew into occupied dwelling in Arlington last Wednesday, according to this week’s Arlington County Crime Report. And by missile, police are referring to a ring of keys.
MISSILE INTO AN OCCUPIED DWELLING-ARREST 08/11/10, 5100 block of S. 8th Road. On August 11 at 10 pm, a woman threw a ring of keys through the living room window in an attempt to hit the male inside. Makeba Sturge, 23, of Arlington, was charged with Throwing a Missile Into an Occupied Dwelling, and given a $500 bond.
Elsewhere, we learn what the large police response to a house on North Manchester Street was all about last week.
ASSAULT ON POLICE-ARREST 08/11/10, 200 block of N. Manchester Street. On August 11 at 4 pm, an officer responded for a parking complaint, and discovered that the owner of the car was wanted. The suspect assaulted the officer and attempted to flee. He was arrested at the scene. Jose Santos Vasquez, 35, of Arlington, was charged with Assault on a Police Officer and was served with the warrant for Working Without a License. He was held on a $3,500 bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST 08/11/10, 2000 block of Wilson Boulevard. On August 11 at 1:40 am, two men got into a physical altercation. One of the men threw the other to the ground and kicked him repeatedly. Paul Brooks, 30, of Alexandria, was charged with Malicious Wounding and Possession of Marijuana. He was held without bond.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST 08/11/10, 1500 block of Arlington Boulevard. On August 11 at 5 am, a woman was kicked and punched by her boyfriend, who was later located at the metro. Tyrone Jackson, 30, of Capital Heights, MD, was charged with Malicious Wounding and held without bond.
ASSAULT BY MOB 08/15/10, 4800 Columbia Pike. On August 15 at 2:30 am, a man was grabbed and assaulted by four to five Hispanic male suspects after argument in a bar. The suspects were all described as being 5’6″ to 5’7″ and 165lbs.
BANK ROBBERY-ARREST 08/14/10, 1000 block of N. Stafford Street. On August 14 at 10:20 am, a man passed a note at a bank demanding money. He apprehended outside the bank by police. Richard Jones, 54, of Arlington, was charged with Robbery. He was held without bond.
ROBBERY 08/12/10, 1300 block of S. Pollard Street. On August 13 at 11:10 pm, three unknown men approached a man walking on his own. They assaulted him and went through his pockets. The suspects are described men in their early 20’s. One suspect was a white male, 6’2″, 185 lbs. wearing blue shorts and a white t-shirt. The other two suspects were African American males. One wore his hair in dreadlocks.
ROBBERY-ARREST 08/14/10, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. On August 14 at 6:15 pm, a security guard attempted to stop a subject from leaving the store with concealed merchandise. The suspect pushed the security guard out of the way and fled the store. Gregory Hines, 65, of Washington D.C., was charged with Robbery. He was held on a $20,000 bond.
ROBBERY 08/14/10, 2400 block of S. Glebe Road. On August 14 at 11:45 pm, an unknown man forced his way into a hotel room. He tied up the two female occupants, and sexually assaulted one of them. The suspect left the room after stealing money and electronics. The suspect is described as a 40 year-old African American male, 5’8″ and180lbs. He was wearing a grey t-shirt with a design on it, tan cargo shorts, white shoes and a black baseball hat.
ROBBERY 08/14/10, 600 block of S. Carlin Springs Road. On August 14 at 4 pm, a woman at a bus stop was approached by an unknown man who demanded her purse. After a brief struggle, the male gained control of the purse and fled on foot. The suspect is described as being an African American male, 5’9″ with a slim build, wearing a white tank top, grey shorts and a black skullcap.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY 08/17/10, 2300 block of Columbia Pike. On August 17 at 2 am, a man was assaulted by two unknown men after stopping them from arguing with a gas station clerk. The suspects fled in a blue Toyota sedan. The suspects were both African American males in the 20’s. The first suspect was 5’9″, 180 lbs, had a goatee, and was wearing a white t-shirt and a light blue baseball hat. The second suspect was 5’10”, 165 lbs, and was wearing a brown t-shirt and jean shorts.
INDECENT EXPOSURE-ARREST 08/11/10, 1000 block of S. Hayes Street. On August 11 at 6:30 pm, a man exposed himself inappropriately to another male in a restroom. Roni Sorto-Varela, 33, of Hyattsville, MD, was charged with Indecent Exposure. He was held without bond.
INDECENT EXPOSURE-ARREST 08/12/10, 2100 block of Military Road. On August 12 at 4:50 pm, an officer observed a man exposing himself. David Blankenship, 30, of no fixed address, was charged with Indecent Exposure. He was held without bond.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT-ARREST 08/18/10, 3000 block of Columbia Pike. On August 18 at 1:30 am, officers responded for a large group of people acting in a disorderly manner. One subject refused to return home. Marcus Massie, 22, of Arlington was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Drunk in Public. He was released when sober.
UNAUTHORIZED USE OF AN AUTOMOBILE-ARREST 08/16/10, 1000 block of N. Edison Street. On August 16 at 2:45 pm, a man took his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle without permission. When police located him in the vehicle, he fled on foot, but was apprehended. Jose Dominguez, 35, of Silver Spring, MD, was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Driving While Intoxicated and Eluding Police. He was held on a $2,000 bond.
BURGLARY 08/12/10, 6600 block of N. Little Falls Road. Between 10 pm on August 11, and 6:30 am on August 12, an unknown subject broke into a school through a window. There are no known suspects.
BURGLARY 08/12/10, 3400 block of N. Potomac Street. On August 12 between 2 pm and 5 pm, an unknown person broke into a house through a window. There are no known suspects.
BURGLARY 08/15/10, Unit block of N. Oakland Street. Between 5 pm on August 11 at, and 7 pm on August 15, an unknown suspect used force to gain entry into a residence. There are no known suspects.
ATTEMPT BURGLARY 08/12/10, 4300 block of N. Pershing Drive. Between 6 pm on August 8, and noon on August 12, an unknown subject attempted to enter an apartment by cutting the screen to a window. There is no suspect description.
LARCENY FROM AUTO-ARREST 08/14/10, 1300 block of S. 28th Street. On August 14 at 5:40 pm, a woman observed a man reach into her unoccupied vehicle, steal her purse, and flee. The suspect was apprehended. Michael Doctor, 40, of Alexandria, was charged with Attempted Larceny and Larceny. He was held on a $3,500 bond.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY-SERIES 08/17/10, 5300-5400 blocks of N.11th Street. Between 6:30 pm on August 16, and 8:30 am on August 17, six vehicles in the same area were vandalized. There are no known suspects.
