Crime Report: iPhone Thief Punched, Robbed

A teenager is facing charges after a robbery that led to what some might call a bit of karma.

Police say a 17-year-old boy took an iPhone from a store employee on the 3200 block of Columbia Pike, then was punched in the face and robbed of the phone by two men he was trying to sell it to.

From this week’s Arlington County crime report:

ROBBERY, 06/25/13, 3200 block of S. Columbia Pike. At 7:50 pm on June 25, a juvenile subject grabbed an iPhone from a store employee and fled the scene on foot. Police located the subject a short distance away bleeding from the left eye after he was robbed of the phone he stole. The juvenile suspect was issued petitions for robbery and grand larceny with intent to distribute.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 06/21/13, 2800 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. At 12:15 am on June 21, a subject being escorted out of a bar bit the left arm of a bouncer. George Haralampopoulos, 24, of Arlington, Va, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. He was held on a secured bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 06/24/13, 1000 block of N. Quincy Street. At 2:50 am on June 24, a subject attacked two victims with a machete after an argument escalated. The victims sustained significant non-life threatening injuries and were transported to GW Hospital. The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s and was wearing a pink shirt.

ROBBERY, 06/25/13, 900 block of N. Stuart Street. At 2:20 pm on June 25, a female victim had her iPhone stolen from her on a park bench. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 15 years of age, 5’9″ tall and 150 lbs. He was wearing a dark green shirt and dark colored jeans at the time of the incident.

ROBBERY, 06/23/13, 3100 block of N. Hancock Street. At 2:10 am on June 23, a subject assaulted a victim as she was walking to her car and stole her purse. The suspect is described as a black male between 25-30 years old, approximately 6’0″ tall and 215 lbs. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and black jeans.

SEXUAL BATTERY, 06/19/13, 1500 block of S. Fern Street. On June 19 at 12:55 pm, a 16 year-old juvenile subject grabbed the buttocks of a woman as she jogged past him. The subject fled the scene on foot and was later taken into custody for a separate incident involving graffiti and stolen tools. He was later released to the custody of his mother.

BURGLARY, 06/20/13, 1900 block of N. Roosevelt Street. Between 7:50 am and 7:30 pm on June 20, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence through a window and stole items to include a laptop and jewelry. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 06/22/13, 1600 block of S. Eads Street. Between 5 am on June 20 and 3 pm on June 22, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence and stole a credit card. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 06/25/13, 1200 block of S. Barton Street. Between 9 am on June 22 and 9 pm on June 24, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence and stole numerous items to include musical instruments, a camera and a watch. There is no suspect(s) description.
