This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Pretzel, a two-year-old mixed breed who was rescued this summer.
Here’s what owner Rachel — whose fiancee recently “recognized, by name” a previous Pet of the Week honoree — said about Pretzel.
Pretzel is a 2 year old hound/lab/we have no idea mix that we rescued from K-9 Lifesavers over three months ago. We were looking for a medium sized snuggle dog who also liked to play and go on runs. Pretzel has made an amazing couch companion and loves soft fleece blankets and putting all 50 pounds of her body weight on her humans.
Pretzel got her name because it is my long time favorite snack food and a name I picked out for my future dog when I was 10 years old. We’ve never met another Pretzel and love that she’s one of a kind. The huge heart shop spot on the side of her belly melted our hearts and matches her lovable nature.
Pretzel loves chewing! Luckily, she sticks to her toys and not our stuff (except a remote control, only once). She loves the adventure of getting a new toy and shredding it to pieces. She has many doggie neighbors and would play all day in our apartment’s dog park if she could. You can find her on long walks with us every evening along Columbia Pike.
The Arlington Pet of the Week is sponsored by Dogma Bakery, which has locations at The Village at Shirlington (2772 S. Arlington Mill Drive) and the Lee Harrison Shopping Center (2445 N. Harrison Street).
