18th Annual Artful Weekend Returns to Fort C.F. Smith!

(This Community Post was written by the Arlington Artists Alliance and underwritten Embracing Arlington Arts.)

Has your recent experience of viewing art consisted mainly of looking at a painting behind your boss’s head on a Zoom call? Here’s your chance to see and purchase art in person, while supporting local Arlington artists!

The weekend of December 4 to 6, the Arlington Artists Alliance is having its 18th annual Artful Weekend at Fort C.F. Smith Park. This always-popular show and sale features 30 top local Arlington-based artists and is held in the beautiful historic Hendry House at Fort C.F. Smith Park in North Arlington. The show will feature paintings, ceramics, glass art, sculpture, cards, calendars and bins of unframed works at bargain prices. Although an opening reception is not possible this year, the work will still be on the walls all weekend. The show is free and open to the public.

Masks and social distancing will be required while inside Hendry House. The show will be open Saturday December 4 from 3-7 p.m., Saturday December 5 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday December 6 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Hendry House is located at 2411 24th Street N. in Arlington. Shop small and local, and bring some beautiful art into your life!

The Arlington Artists Alliance is sponsored in part by Arlington County through Arlington Cultural Affairs, a division of Arlington Economic Development; in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts; and in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
