There is a special kind of magic in the theater when the lights go down and you hear “Welcome to Encore Stage & Studio!“ After 18 long months, Encore finally felt that magic we’ve all been missing when The Hobbit, Encore’s first production in the theatre since March 2020, opened in September. Kids are creating onstage and in the scene shop together again!
To get to that magical moment, Encore endured uncertainty with the rest of the world.
Encore’s drive-through pandemic productions lifted spirits in our community. Patrons drove from scene to scene, engaging with the actors along the way. Typically serving 15,000 students a year, Encore is proud that even in the pandemic they continue to fulfill their mission with creative virtual and safe in-person programming.
Encore’s return to the stage, which continues with Commedia Cinderella in January, is only possible with the support of our community. Encore brings wholesome, affordable theatre to the families of Arlington and children can see peers on stage and backstage.
Encore Stage & Studio still has a long way to go as they recover. Your gift is vital as Encore returns to in-person theatre arts outreach classes at the community sites closed during the pandemic and to our mainstage production season.
