This is a supportive and understanding space focused on encouraging peaceful, empowered decisions about divorce — from the comfort of your home or office.

At a Second Saturday Workshop, you’ll hear from local divorce professionals including family law attorneys, financial advisors, therapists, and more who will offer professional, unbiased support, prudent information, and assist with your questions and concerns regarding the divorce process. All Second Saturday workshops value privacy and we will never release personal information or specifically identify any registrants or attendees.

“Me, My Body and Alcohol” is an ongoing online therapeutic group of 8 women looking to really invest in themselves, better understand their drinking and learn about options available for them to feel better. More importantly, we foster a genuine connection so you can share your joys and challenges and gain support. Co-facilitated by psychotherapists Jyotika Vazirani, MSN and Sarah Moore, LPC, who see clients individually as well, if needed.

Join the Arlington Arts Center and Made in Arlington on Saturday, October 2 from 12-4 p.m. for an artisan pop-up market. Various Arlington artisans will be on hand selling their creations, while the fall exhibitions will be on view in the galleries.

The fall exhibition season includes a conceptual art exhibition “Take a Number: Artists & Bureaucracy” and a special exhibition by artist-in-residence “Olivia Tripp Morrow: Body, Joy, Cage, Scar.” Arlington Arts Center is located at 3550 Wilson Blvd near the Virginia Square metro and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12-5 p.m.


The Return to Earn initiative was launched in June of this year in an effort to support small businesses find and retain the talent they need while also helping unemployed Virginian’s transition back into the workforce. $500 per new hire for a maximum of 25 employees is provided as an incentive by this program. That means that your business could receive up to $12,500 depending on hiring and staffing needs.

The SkillSource Group, Inc. and Virginia Career Works Northern is working hard to make this program available to the small business community and to make the application, enrollment and reimbursement process as simple as possible. Book It For Books 5K/One-Mile Run/Walk is Reading is Fundamental of Northern Virginia’s fund- and fun-raiser to help supply books to over 20,000 vulnerable children in Arlington and the surrounding NOVA community. The date and time: 9 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021.

Book It is an-person event at Bluemont Park in Arlington, Virginia, with staggered start times for safety. A hybrid option is available for those who prefer to participate at a distance.

After a hiatus due to the pandemic, the Arlington Concert Band (ACB) is resuming with an exciting fall season. Mark your calendars for the ACB’s next concert on Thursday, December 2. Join for a fun evening of band music, including both classic and contemporary tunes.

A wind ensemble made up of more than 50 professional music educators and dedicated amateur musicians, the ACB performs regularly throughout the community and plays an assortment of music including marches, show tunes and classical arrangements. The ACB’s musicians come from a variety of backgrounds — from lawyers to IT professionals to retirees — but all are united around a shared mission to bring a mix of family friendly, professional music to the community for all to enjoy and to provide an outlet for making music performance a lifelong activity. The ACB is led by Director James Kirchenbauer.
