Arlington Honors 2015 Women of Vision
ARLINGTON, May 28, 2015 -On Thursday, June 11, 2015, the Arlington County Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) will honor the 2015 Arlington County Women of Vision for their commitment and leadership in the Arlington community.
• GOVERNMENT: Honorable Karen Darner, former member to the House of Delegates in 1991 and served until 2004, has spent over 30 years as a distinguished community leader and advocate for women and families throughout the Commonwealth.
• BUSINESS: Mary-Claire Burick is a widely recognized businesswoman and community leader; Her philanthropic efforts include committee involvement, pro-bono work and board service, resulting in improvements in efficiency, engagement of key stakeholders and improved effectiveness in communicating mission and vision.
• NONPROFIT: Sarah Summerville is a prominent community activist, who founded and leads the African American Leadership Council of Arlington, an organization that provides a forum for information sharing among the African American community throughout Arlington.

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) works to advance initiatives and policies that empower women and serves as a community advocate and resource on the social and economic interests of all Arlington women. The CSW is an Arlington County Board advisory group and members are appointed by the County Board.
