A Conversation with Michael Hayden

General Michael V. Hayden, former CIA and NSA director, will discuss his new book, “Playing to the Edge: American Intelligence in the Age of Terror.” The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions in a Q&A session and is invited to stay for a book signing and reception immediately following the discussion.

GW Parkway Open House

As part of the National Park Service centennial celebration, the GW Parkway is hosting a series of open houses for the public to meet the staff and talk with us about ideas, visions and hopes for the parkway for the next 100 years.

Capitals vs. Penguins Viewing

Don Tito is throwing what it’s calling the area’s biggest Cinco do Mayo party. All three floors will be open starting at 2 p.m. “Expect incredible Mexican cuisine, sombreros, cervezas, tequila, and more. The Animal Welfare League of Arlington is hosting the Annual Walk for the Animals. This event brings together hundreds of local animal lovers and their canine companions for a walk to benefit AWLA and its shelter animals.

Fundraiser to Support Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

A fundraiser is being held for Jack Creedon, an 11-year-old boy from Alexandria who was diagnosed with “very high risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia” in November. Mention the fundraiser and Cafe Pizzaiolo will donate 15 percent of the sale.

ARLnow Presents: Hot Topics on the Pike

Musical: The Addams Family

Mid-Atlantic Spring Beer Festival

This springtime beer-tasting event will include a line-up of 35 regional breweries. Admission for beer drinkers is $30, which includes a wristband, official tasting glass and 10 drink tickets. The event is free for non-drinkers and children.

Jr. NBA Skills Challenge

A local competition for the national basketball skills challenge. Registration is $20.

Go Gaga for Green
