Run or walk during this race to support the charity groups Homestretch, Community Lodgings, and Bridges to Independence, local nonprofits providing housing, employment, and child services to homeless parents and their children. $40 for adults, and $20 for those 17 and under.

NoVA Mac and Cheese Festival*

Local hockey blog Russian Machine Never Breaks is bringing Canadian hockey blogger Steve (Dangle) Glynn to the area. He will be at the bookstore signing copies of his new book and talking about how he fell in love with hockey.

This dog-friendly festival will feature adoptable pets, live music and family activities. Dog experts will be on-site.

Arlington “Bat Fest”

This event will feature live bats and help educate the community on the local creatures. Registration is required and costs $5.

This year’s events will feature LOVE art, a butterfly experience, rides, live music and goat yoga along with the classic favorites. There is a shuttle bus available since there is no public parking.

Encore Stage & Studio invites kids ages nine to 18 to audition for the upcoming production. Backstage helpers are also needed, including kids ages 12 to 18. No experience is needed.

Netherlands Carillon Performance
Netherlands Carillon (1400 N. Meade Street)

This free concert series features Dutch artist, Gijsbert Kok playing the carillon, which was a gift from the Netherlands after WWII. It is made up of over 50 bells.
