A light pole was struck by a vehicle in Clarendon and knocked to the ground, but luckily no one was hurt.
The accident happened around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday morning. Initial reports suggest that a box truck hit the pole, in front of Moby Dick House of Kabob (3000 Washington Blvd), sending it crashing down onto the sidewalk.
The glass light covers shattered across the walkway. No injuries were reported and the sidewalk was blocked off by police pending a cleanup.

Lee Highway is currently blocked at the Spout Run Parkway due to a crash in the middle of the intersection.
Initial reports suggest 2-3 vehicles were involved and at least one person might have been briefly trapped in their vehicle.
Police and firefighters are on scene and all lanes of Lee Highway are temporarily blocked due to the emergency response, though some lanes are expected to reopen shortly.
Garbage Truck Crash — Among a number of other potentially weather-related crashes this morning, a garbage truck ran into a utility pole on the 4600 block of 27th Street N., near Marymount University. Dominion crews responded to the scene for a report of downed power lines. No injuries were reported.
Four Mile Run Valley Meeting Cancelled — A meeting of the Four Mile Run Valley Working Group, scheduled for tonight, has been cancelled. The cancellation is due to county staff reviewing “key pieces of the 4MRV transportation analysis,” the county wrote. “Staff will provide an update on the process schedule and timeline at the next scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 6.” [Arlington County]
Lee Highway Planning Moving Forward — “Funded with two county grants, donations and sponsorships, the Lee Highway Alliance is now back on the front burner of Arlington’s planning agenda, said county board Chairman Katie Cristol, who promised forward movement in the next couple of months.” Meanwhile, businesses along Lee Highway are generally supportive of redevelopment, according to the alliance. A driver, possibly suffering a medical episode, drove into trees along southbound I-395 just past the 14th Street Bridge today.
The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. in the area of Boundary Channel Drive. A 911 caller reported that the man was unconscious but breathing and that smoke was coming from the hood of his SUV.
Virginia State Police were the first on scene and were assisted by Arlington County officers in shutting down a highway ramp and several lanes during the emergency response. A number of witnesses appear to have pulled over to help before police arrived.
The man was transported by medics to George Washington University Hospital with what were reported to be minor injuries, according to scanner traffic. The closed lanes have since reopened.

More on Freddie’s Award — The Arlington Human Rights Commission is scheduled to present their 2017 Human Rights Awards today. Among the winners was Crystal City staple Freddie’s Beach Bar. Grumbles About Delivery Trucks on the Pike — Delivery trucks often park on Columbia Pike, blocking one of two, including during rush hour. Frustration over delivery trucks parking on the Pike led one resident to tweet a short video illustrating the issue. [Twitter]
Several lanes of King Street are blocked near Arlington’s Fairlington neighborhood due to a crash involving an Alexandria DASH bus.
At least three vehicles, including the bus, appear to have been involved in the crash, at the intersection of King Street and Menokin Drive, between I-395 and the Bradlee Shopping Center.
So far, there is no word on injuries, although numerous ambulances and fire trucks from Alexandria and Arlington responded to the scene following the crash.

Two Washington-Lee High School students suffered minor injuries after the car they were riding in hit a tree in a home’s front yard near the school.
The car hit the tree just after 11 a.m. on the 1600 block of N. Randolph Street after veering off the road. The crash occurred in the Cherrydale neighborhood, near the Cherry Valley Nature Area.
It caused damage to the front of the car, but did not appear to have caused much damage to the tree or any of the surrounding houses.
The pair were interviewed by police officers and attended to by paramedics, while startled neighbors came out of their houses to survey the scene.
Firefighters are on scene of an overturned vehicle on the GW Parkway.
The crash happened shortly before 10:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the parkway, near the Key Bridge. First responders are reporting that a white van flipped onto its side.
The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and is being evaluated for minor injuries.
A multi-vehicle crash closed two southbound lanes of I-395 at the start of the evening rush hour today (Tuesday).
Police closed the center and left southbound lanes after the crash at around 3:45 p.m. near Mile Marker 7, just north of the Glebe Road exit. Cars could still get by slowly in the two right-hand lanes.
Backups were already reaching as far north as the Pentagon just after 4 p.m. Drivers in the area should expect delays.

A driver was transported to the hospital after colliding with a police cruiser in Crystal City this morning.
The collision happened near the intersection of 15th Street S. and Crystal Drive just after 9 a.m. A black Hyundai rear-ended the cruiser, with both vehicles suffering minor damage.
The driver of the Hyundai was transported to the hospital with a reported injury, possibly the result of the airbag in the car deploying, while the police officer driving the SUV was not hurt.
Police blocked the right lane of 15th Street S. to investigate, but traffic otherwise moved relatively freely.
Expect a slow go in both directions on I-395 through Arlington during the early evening rush hour, following a crash in the northbound lanes.
Initial reports suggest that a car crashed into the left-hand jersey wall along NB I-395 near Washington Blvd. The driver is being evaluated for injuries, according to scanner traffic.
Two left-hand lanes are currently blocked by the emergency response.
