In this week’s Arlington County crime report, a female escort is robbed at gunpoint in Crystal City.

ROBBERY, 12/15/11, 2000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. On December 15 at 10:50 am, a man brandishing a handgun robbed a female escort of cash. The suspect is described as an African American male in his late 20’s, 5’6″ and 180 lbs. He was wearing a white t-shirt reading “Myrtle Beach”, jeans, a black jacket, and a black knit cap.

Whether you’re out delivering a pizza or walking a dog, sometimes you can never be too careful after dark. In this week’s Arlington County crime report, there were two instances of people being robbed by knife-wielding individuals on the street at night.

ROBBERY, 12/07/11, 1000 block of Randolph Street. On December 7 at 8:40 pm, a man delivering pizza was robbed by an unknown male brandishing a knife. The suspect is described as an African American male, 5’8″ and 150 lbs. wearing all black clothing including a black ski mask.

ROBBERY, 12/10/11, 800 block of S. Harrison Street. On December 10 at 8 pm, a man was walking a small dog when an unknown man confronted him. The suspect brandished a knife and demanded money. The victim gave him a small amount of money, and the suspect fled. The suspect is described as an African American male in his 20’s, 6″ tall and 190 lbs. He was wearing a red and blacked checked button-down shirt and a red knit hat with ear flaps.

In this week’s Arlington County crime report, a 70-year-old man, identified as a registered sex offender from California, is accused of “peeping into bathroom stalls” in the Ballston area.

PEEPING TOM-ARREST, 12/02/11, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. On December 2 at 1 pm, a man was witnessed peeping into bathroom stalls. Clyde Medeiros, 70, of Napa, CA, was charged with Peeping and for Violation of a Registered Sex Offender. He was held without bond.

Also this week, a driver was assaulted when he tried to confront a pedestrian who kicked his car in Clarendon.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 12/05/11, 1100 block of N. Hudson Street. On December 5 at 9:50 pm, a pedestrian kicked a passing vehicle. When the driver exited the car, the pedestrian assaulted him. The suspect is described as man with a medium complexion, 6′ tall, wearing a black jacket, jeans, and carrying a black book bag with a white antler design on it.

An additional item of note: two young women are accused of robbing a man after being invited back to his hotel on Columbia Pike.

ROBBERY-ARREST, 12/02/11, 3000 block of Columbia Pike. On December 2 at 10:20 pm, a man invited three women back to his hotel. One of the women stole his wallet and when confronted, assaulted him. Two of the suspects were located by police. Sarah Jordan, 24, and Savannah Grant, 21, both of Arlington, were charged with Robbery. They were held without bond.

Major crime in Arlington took a bit of a holiday over the long Thanksgiving weekend. One weekend assault and battery incident was somewhat notable, however, for the fact that the victim is a Clarendon bar bouncer.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST, 11/27/11, 3100 block of Clarendon Boulevard. On November 27 at 1:20 am, a man assaulted a bouncer at a bar. A man, 29, of Alexandria, was charged with Assault and Battery and released on a summons to appear in court. Update on 4/15/14 — Charges in this case were dismissed.

In this week’s Arlington County crime report, there were two separate cases of men being arrested and accused of assaulting someone during an argument over a parking space.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST, 11/19/11, 400 block of N. Thomas Street. On November 19 at 7:30 pm, a man brandished a knife at another man during an argument over a parking space. Roger Redman, 62, of Arlington, was charged with Assault and Battery. He was held on a $3,000 bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST, 11/19/11, 2300 block of Columbia Pike. On November 19 at 8 am, a man hit another man on the leg with a pole during an argument over a parking space. Farhan Ali, 35, of Alexandria, was charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond.

Another crime occurred while a woman was exiting her vehicle on Columbia Pike. She managed to flee from a man with a knife by jumping across to the passenger seat, opening the door and running into her apartment building.

ATTEMPT CARJACKING, 11/20/11, 3800 block of Columbia Pike. On November 20 at midnight, a woman was exiting her vehicle when an unknown man brandishing a knife approached her. He told her to move to the passenger seat, she fled through the passenger door of the vehicle. The victim then ran to her apartment building and called police. The suspect is described as a white male between 40 and 50 years old. He was wearing a blue knit hat and a dark jacket.

Also on Columbia Pike, a woman’s dog saved the day when it woke her up while a man was peeping through her apartment’s sliding door.

PEEPING TOM, 11/19/11, 1900 block of Columbia Pike. On November 19 at 5 am, a woman awoke to her dog barking at a man watching her through the apartment sliding door. The suspect fled when he saw her wake up. He is described as a white male, between 30-40 years old, 5’11” and 190 lbs. with light facial hair. He was wearing a thick gray jacket and dark pants.

In this week’s Arlington County crime report, a driver is accused of hitting a man with her car in Shirlington, then getting out of the car and assaulting the victim and his wife. The driver’s passenger was also charged.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST, 11/06/11, 4000 block of S. Campbell Avenue. On November 6 at 6:30 pm, a car struck a pedestrian, and then the driver and passenger assaulted the victim and his wife. [Redacted], 32, of Arlington, was charged with Assault and Battery and released on a summons. [Redacted], 33, of Arlington, was charged with Assault and Battery and held on a $2,500 bond. [Names redacted after proof of dismissal and expungement was reviewed.]

In this week’s Arlington County crime report, a man exposed himself to a female jogger along a bike path in Rosslyn. The incident took place around 10:00 p.m. last Wednesday.

EXPOSURE, 10/26/11, 1400 block of Lee Highway. On October 26, at 10 pm, a woman was jogging on a bike trail near the Key Bridge. She witnessed a man hiding behind a sign shining a flashlight on his genitalia as she ran past. The suspect is a Hispanic or African American male with a light complexion. He was wearing a suit, and covered his face with pantyhose or a stocking.

It’s not every day that someone wearing Mickey Mouse clothing is a) out past midnight in Clarendon, b) in her 20s, and c) punching someone in the face. So the following item from this week’s Arlington County crime report is a bit unique.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 10/15/11, 1100 block of N. Highland Street. On October 15 at 12:10 am, a woman punched another woman in the face. The suspect is and Asian female in her late 20’s, 5’4″ and 130 lbs. She was wearing red and white scrubs with a “Mickey Mouse” design.

In this week’s Arlington County crime report, a man is accused of assaulting a property manager after the manager told the man to clean up after his dog.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 10/03/11, 5000 S. 8th Road. On October 3 at 5:15 pm, a property manager confronted a subject about picking up after his dog, and the suspect assaulted the property manager. The suspect is described as an African American male, 6’2″, 190 lbs, wearing all black clothing. He was walking a brown pit-bull.

Men in various states of nudity caused quite a bit of trouble over the past week. This week’s Arlington County crime report lists five separate indecent exposure cases, including two arrests.

EXPOSURE-ARREST, 09/23/11, 2400 block of Arlington Boulevard. On September 23 at 4:45 am, an officer witnessed a man running nude on the highway. Mark Dewitt, 48, of Arlington, was charged with Indecent Exposure. He was held on a $3,000 bond.

EXPOSURE-ARREST, 09/23/1, 2300 block of Walter Reed Drive. On September 23 at 1:50 pm, a man was seen exposing himself on a bike trail. Russell Bixby, 48, of no fixed address, was charged with Indecent Exposure and released on a summons.

EXPOSURE, 09/23/11, 3200 block of Arlington Boulevard. On September 23 at 7:40 am, a man was jogging and suddenly stopped in front of three teenage girls. He acted as if he was going to tie his shoe, but exposed himself instead. The girls went to school and reported the incident. The suspect is described as a white male, 5’8″, and 165 lbs. wearing black running shorts and a baseball cap.

EXPOSURE, 09/25/11, 1300 block of N. Meade Street. On September 25 at 8:20 pm, a woman was walking and noticed a man walking behind her who was exposing himself. The suspect was 25 year-old a white male, 5’10” wearing a light colored shirt, dark pants, and large glasses.

EXPOSURE, 09/25/11, 1500 block of N. Rhodes Street. On September 25 at 9 pm, a man approached a woman sitting on a step smoking a cigarette. He touched her leg and when she pulled away, he exposed himself. The suspect was a white Hispanic male in his mid-20’s, 5’5″ and 150 lbs. He was wearing an orange baseball cap, blue t-shirt and dark shorts.

Also this week, a woman who got into a vehicle she initially thought was a taxicab was touched inappropriately by the driver. Later, she realized the car was, in fact, probably not a taxi.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 09/25/11, 4600 block of Washington Boulevard. On September 25 at 2:30 am, a woman reported that she got into a car in Washington D.C., assuming it was a taxi. She sat in the front seat and the driver touched her breasts. She fled the car at her designation, and now believes the vehicle was not a taxi. The suspect is a white Hispanic male in his mid-40’s, 5’7″ and 180 lbs.

In this week’s Arlington County crime report, a suspected burglar was caught after a handyman working on a neighbor’s house saw the crime in progress and called police.

BURGLARY-ARREST, 09/15/11, 3500 block of N. 13th Street. On September 15 at 12:44 pm, a man was seen breaking into a residence. He was located by police and in possession of items from the house. Michael Porter, 53, of no fixed address, was charged with Burglary and Grand Larceny. He was held on a $1,500 bond.
