The Arlington County Police Department has released a list of crimes that have occurred over the past two weeks. Two of particular note:

  • BURGLARY 02/09/10, 4300 block of N. Pershing Drive. On February 9 at 1 am, a woman awoke to find an unknown man standing in her bedroom. When she yelled, the suspect fled the apartment. The suspect was a white male, 5’10” and 150 lbs. He was wearing a black sweater, jeans and a dark knit cap.
  • MALICIOUS WOUNDING/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY 02/13/10, 2900 block of Wilson Boulevard. On February 13 at 8:20 pm, a man in an unknown green costume slammed his body into the exterior of a plate glass window at a restaurant. The window shattered and a customer was cut by falling glass. The suspect fled the scene.

The window-smashing incident happened at Mexicali Blues during a weekend bar crawl. According to someone who works at the restaurant, a man dressed up as a green beer bottle slammed his body against a large window in an attempt to scare his friends, who were inside. But the prank went wrong when the glass shattered and fell on a customer.

The man ran off and his friends covered for him, according to the restaurant employee. The window is still boarded up and awaiting replacement.
