Crime Report: Man Exposes Himself to Girls in Lyon Park

A man in a car exposed himself to girls who were walking down the street in the Lyon Park neighborhood, south of Clarendon.

The incident happened last Wednesday around 7 a.m.

At approximately 7:01 a.m. on June 5, the juvenile female victims were walking in the area when an unknown male suspect pulled alongside them in a vehicle and exposed his genitals. Crime Report: Man Exposed Himself, then Robbed Woman

Arlington County Police are looking for the suspect in a robbery in the Bluemont neighborhood over the weekend.

The crime happened Saturday afternoon on the 800 block of N. Lexington Street, near Wilson Blvd and the W&OD Trail.

Police say a woman was sitting on a bench when a man approached her from behind, asked for directions, then exposed himself. The man then grabbed the woman’s personal belongings and ran off, according to police.

ROBBERY, 2019-02160157, 800 block of N. Lexington Street. At approximately 1:15 p.m. on February 16, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny and exposure. Upon arrival, it was determined that the female victim was sitting on a bench when the unknown suspect approached her from behind and asked for directions. As she turned, she observed the suspect exposing himself before he grabbed her personal belongings and fled the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 18 – 20 years of age, 5’2″ – 5’4″, 130 – 150 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black hoodie, green shirt and burgundy shorts at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2019-02140221, 2200 block of N. Nottingham Street. At approximately 5:35 p.m. on February 14, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just discovered. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 11:00 a.m. on February 11 and 12:45 p.m. on February 13, an unknown subject forced entry into a residence and moved items around but nothing was reported stolen. The subject also entered the victim’s vehicle but no items were reported stolen. There is no suspect description and the investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY (late), 2019-02140282, 1200 block of N. Garfield Street. At approximately 10:29 p.m. on February 14, police were dispatched to the report of a late burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that a subject entered a residence and damaged property. The investigation is ongoing.

ASSAULT & BATTERY ON POLICE, 2019-02130108, 4100 block of Campbell Ave. At approximately 12:00 p.m. on February 13, police were dispatched to the report of a disorderly female subject refusing to leave a business. While being detained pending the completion of a banning notice, the suspect struck one of the responding officers with a closed fist. Senait Taye, 38, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Assault and Batter on Law Enforcement and Failure to ID. She was held without bond.

Crime Report: Abduction Attempt on Wilson Blvd

A masked man tried to abduct a woman outside of her residence along Wilson Blvd this past weekend, according to Arlington County Police.

The abduction attempt happened early Saturday morning on Wilson near the intersection with Patrick Henry Drive. The man tried to drag the woman away but she fought back and the attacker eventually fled.

ABDUCTION, 2019-01120041, 6100 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 3:00 a.m. on January 12, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined that the female victim was walking in the area when she noticed an unknown male subject following her. As she approached the entrance to her residence, the male suspect pulled the victim’s hair from behind and wrapped his arms around her, preventing her from leaving. The suspect attempted to pull the victim away from her residence, however she resisted and the suspect eventually fled on foot when a vehicle drove by the area. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, with light-olive toned skin, possibly in his late 20’s or early 30’s, approximately 5’8″-5’11”, 150-180 lbs., wearing black pants, a black jacket, black shoes and a winter mask. The investigation is ongoing.

Also last week, police were dispatched to a store in Pentagon City for a man who exposed himself to a group of children inside a fitting room.

The incident happened Friday night, on the 1100 block of S. Hayes Street — which is address of both the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City mall and the Pentagon Centre shopping center.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2019-01110259, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 7:11 p.m. on January 11, police were dispatched to the report of an indecent exposure. Upon arrival, it was determined that the juvenile victims were in the area of the fitting rooms inside of a business when they observed a male expose himself and touch himself inappropriately. The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male, 25-35 years old, taller than 6’1″, approximately 190 lbs., with short black hair, brown eyes, scruff on his face, wearing a dark gray shirt, black jacket and black jeans. The investigation is ongoing.

Crime Report: Man Arrested After Allegedly Exposing Himself, Fighting With Police in Clarendon

A man is now facing a slew of charges after he allegedly drunkenly exposed himself in Clarendon, then scuffled with police as they tried to arrest him.

Arlington Police say they received a call around 4 a.m. on Monday (Nov. 26) after someone saw a man “with his pants down exposing himself while walking” in the vicinity of the 3000 block of Washington Blvd. The area is home to several apartment buildings, a 7-Eleven convenience store and other shops and restaurants.

Officers then spotted a man “appearing disheveled and intoxicated” and arrested him. They subsequently identified him as 54-year-old Michael Tomlin, of no fixed address.

“The suspect actively resisted officers while they placed him in handcuffs,” police said. “Once in custody and while in booking, the suspect continued to resist, attempting to remove his hands from the handcuffs, and ignored the instructions of officers.”

Tomlin was subsequently charged with obstruction of justice, indecent exposure and public drunkenness.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2018-11260035, 3000 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 3:55 a.m. on November 26, police were dispatched to the report of a male exposing himself. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim observed the male suspect allegedly with his pants down exposing himself while walking in the area. A lookout was broadcast and arriving officers located an individual matching the suspect description in the lookout still in the area, appearing disheveled and intoxicated. The suspect actively resisted officers while they placed him in handcuffs. Once in custody and while in booking, the suspect continued to resist, attempting to remove his hands from the handcuffs, and ignored the instructions of officers. Michael Tomlin, 54, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Obstruction of Justice, Indecent Exposure and Drunk in Public.

Upon arrival, it was determined that between 8:30 a.m. on November 18 and 8:20 p.m. on November 26, an unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the victim’s residence and stole items of value from the residence. There is no suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE, 2018-11240168, Army Navy Drive at S. Hayes Street. At approximately 7:13 p.m. on November 24, a lookout was broadcast for a potentially stolen vehicle, driven by subject wanted out of Prince William County. At approximately 7:20 p.m. an officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle driven by a subject matching the descriptions in the lookout travelling Northbound on I-395 and effected a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was confirmed to be wanted and taken into custody without incident. Brandon Williams, 25, of Spotsylvania, Va., was arrested, served with outstanding warrants out of Prince William County and held on no bond.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE, 2018-11210043, I-66 W.B. at N. Sycamore Street. At approximately 4:33 a.m. on November 21, officers on routine patrol were alerted to a License Plate Reader hit on a stolen vehicle. With the assistance of additional arriving officers, a traffic stop was conducted and the driver was taken into custody without incident. Terry Degeus, 33, of Fredericksburg, Va., was arrested and charged with Driving with a Suspended or Revoked License, and served with outstanding warrants out of Stafford County, Va.

BURGLARY, 2018-11250003, 2100 block of N. Quantico Street. At approximately 12:06 a.m. on November 25, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just discovered. Upon arrival, it was determined that between November 23 at 9:30 a.m. and November 24 at 11:50 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) forced entry to a residence, causing damage, and stole items of value. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2018-11200269, 700 block of S. Ode Street. At approximately 9:10 p.m. on November 20, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim met the known suspect to purchase goods for sale. The victim paid the suspect in cash for the goods, however, when the victim reached for the goods, the suspect pulled them away forcefully and fled in his vehicle with the goods and cash. The victim attempted to stop the vehicle, but was dragged a short distance,  causing the victim to suffer minor injuries, which did not require medical treatment. The victim then returned to his vehicle, where he was approached by three individuals, allegedly known to the suspect, who attempted to climb on his car, before hearing a loud noise and fleeing on foot. The suspects are described as black males. The investigation is ongoing.

Stabbing on Patrick Henry Drive — A person was stabbed along the 3000 block of Patrick Henry Drive near the Arlington border last night. The victim’s injuries were reported to be life threatening, according to Fairfax County Police, which used its helicopter in an attempt to find the suspect. [WJLA, Twitter]

Police Investigate Man Spotted with Pants Unzipped

Police were called to the Arlington Mill neighborhood, north of Columbia Pike, over the weekend for a report of a man standing around with his pants unzipped.

According to Arlington County Police, a resident of the 800 block of S. Frederick Street spotted the man standing in the woods, staring with him, around 6 p.m. on Saturday. The man’s pants, according to the resident, were unzipped.

Ten minutes later, the same man was spotted “exhibiting the same suspicious behavior,” prompting the call to police. By the time officers arrived, the man had zipped out of the area and could not be located.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2018-10200181, 800 block of S. Frederick Street. At approximately 6:24 p.m. on October 20, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was in the parking lot of his residence when he observed an unknown male suspect in a wooded area staring at him with his pants unzipped. When the victim returned approximately ten minutes later, he observed the same male exhibiting the same suspicious behavior and called police. Arriving officers observed the male in the area, however, he fled on foot. The area was canvased with negative results. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male, in his 40’s, approximately 5’6″, with an average build, dark hair with a receding hairline, wearing jeans and a light grey and black sweatshirt. Crime Report: Man Walks Into Rosslyn Business, Sits Down and Exposes Himself

Police are looking for a man who walked into a Rosslyn business, sat down and exposed himself.

The incident happened last Wednesday around 8 p.m. Police say the man “touched himself inappropriately” before fleeing the scene on a bike.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2018-10030258, 1800 block of N. Oak Street. At approximately 8:14 p.m. on October 3, police were dispatched to the report of an exposure. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 7:40 p.m., an unknown suspect entered a business and sat down in a chair. The suspect then exposed himself and touched himself inappropriately. The suspect fled on his bike after the employee informed the suspect she was calling police. The suspect is described as a black male, 35-40 years old, approximately 5’10”, 215 lbs., with black and blonde dreadlocks falling below shoulder length, some facial hair, wearing a dark t-shirt and blue jeans. The bike is described as a gray and black mountain bike. The investigation is ongoing.

Cops Nab Naked Man Running Near Elementary School

A man who was running around naked near Claremont Immersion School was taken into police custody this morning.

Police responded to S. Buchanan Street around 11:15 a.m. for a report of a man who was possibly suffering a mental health emergency in the neighborhood around the elementary school. Officers reportedly observed the man running down the middle of the street without clothes on and jumping atop at least one vehicle.

The man was “safely taken into police custody” after a few minutes, according to the Arlington County Police Department. There were no reports of any violent or threatening behavior during the incident.

Crime Report: Robber Steals Security Guard’s Gun

Police are investigating an unusual robbery that happened early Sunday morning along Columbia Pike.

The robbery happened outside of a business near the intersection of Columbia Pike and S. Four Mile Run Drive. Police say a man walked up behind an armed security guard and stole his gun while pushing him to the ground. He then assaulted a second victim before running off “with an undisclosed amount of cash.”

During the incident one of the victims “recovered the firearm stolen from the first victim,” according to police.

ROBBERY, 2018-09300031, 4800 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 2:24 a.m. on September 30, police were dispatched to the report of a possible robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined that the first victim was patrolling a business as an armed security guard when the suspect approached him from behind, pushed him to the ground and stole his firearm. The victim ran after him and encountered two additional victims, who had been walking in the area when they were approached by the suspect, who demanded money and valuables. When one victim claimed to have no possessions of value, the suspect struck the victim and became engaged in a physical altercation with the second victim. During the incident, the victims recovered the firearm stolen from the first victim. The suspect then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect is described as a tall, black male wearing black puffy jacket and jeans. One victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Later Sunday, police responded to a report of a home invasion robbery in the North Highlands neighborhood near Rosslyn.

Just before 5 p.m., according to a crime report, residents encountered an armed man inside their home. The suspect allegedly stole cash and fled, but was later arrested by police while walking east on the Custis Trail.

BURGLARY WITH INTENT TO ROB, 2018-09300173, 2100 block of N. Troy Street. At approximately 4:49 p.m. on September 30, police were dispatched to the report of a home invasion. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victims were inside their residence when they heard a loud noise and went to investigate. The victims then encountered an unknown suspect brandishing a firearm. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash and personal property before fleeing the scene on foot. Arriving officers established a perimeter and a lookout for the suspect was broadcast based on the description provided by the victims. Officers located a suspect matching the description walking east on the Custis Trail and took him into custody without incident. Angelo Shepherd, 30, of Washington D.C. was arrested and charged with Burglary with Intent to Rob, Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, Possession of Ammunition by a Felon and Assault. He is being held on no bond.

This past Friday evening, meanwhile, police were called to the 3000 block of Clarendon Blvd in Clarendon for a report of a drunk man mooning passersby.

Upon arrival, officers located the suspect and determined he was intoxicated and had exposed his buttocks to multiple people passing by. William Klugel, 62, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure and Drunk in Public.

Police: Man Exposed Himself to Woman at Rosslyn Business

Arlington police are searching for a man who allegedly exposed himself to an employee at a Rosslyn business last week.

County police believe the man struck up a conversation with a woman working in a shop along the 1800 block of N. Oak Street last Wednesday (Aug. 29), then “began touching himself inappropriately and exposed himself.” The area is home to businesses including a cafe, a Subway and a hair salon.

Police say the man fled the store before officers could make it to the scene.

They describe him as a “dark-skinned black male in his early 30s, with dreadlocks, wearing a white tank top, black shorts and carrying a black backpack,” and are still investigating the incident.

Upon arrival, it was determined that an unknown male suspect entered a business and engaged a female employee in conversation. Police Arrest Man for Masturbating Inside Glebe Road Business

A man is now facing a series of charges after police say he started masturbating inside a business near the intersection of N. Glebe Road and Route 50.

County police claim that 37-year-old Durrell Carter of Arlington walked into the business around 1 p.m. last Wednesday (Aug. 22), when he began “exposing himself and masturbating.” The block where the incident occurred is home to a McDonald’s, a Dunkin Donuts and a car dealer, among other shops.

Carter is now charged with indecent exposure, possession of marijuana, identity theft and possession of a fake ID.

He’s set for a Sept. 24 hearing in Arlington General District Court.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2018-08220138, Unit block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 1:16 p.m. on August 22, police were dispatched to the report of a male exposing himself. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim observed the male suspect allegedly exposing himself and masturbating inside a business. Durrell Carter, 37, of Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure, Possession of Marijuana, Identity Theft and Possession of a Fake Identification. He was held on no bond.
