UPDATE: ‘Critically missing’ Arlington senior found

Update at 8:35 a.m. — The missing woman has been “safely located,” police say.

Earlier: Police are searching for a “critically missing” 89-year-old woman from Arlington.

A statewide Virginia Senior Alert has been issued for Mary Smith, who was last seen last night on S. Arlington Ridge Road near Pentagon City.

The Arlington County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance locating a critically missing Arlington woman. Ms. Mary Francis Smith, was last seen at approximately 8:30 p.m. on December 28 in the 1100 block of S. Arlington Ridge Road.

Ms. Smith is described as a White female, 89 years old, 5’4″, with short, dark hair, wearing a grey and blue striped shirt, grey jeans, and maroon leather boots. She is considered critically missing due to mental and/or physical health concerns.

Silver Alert Issued for Missing Arlington County Man

Update on 8/26/21 — The man has been found, police say.

Earlier: An elderly Arlington man is missing and Virginia State Police have issued a statewide alert to try to find him.

Arlington County police say the 92-year-old man went missing from the Cherrydale neighborhood Monday afternoon. He’s believed to be in danger due to a health issue.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or ACPD at 703-558-2222.

UPDATED: Missing Arlington Man Found Dead in Fairfax County

(Updated at 1:45 p.m.) A 27-year-old Arlington man reported missing by police earlier this week has been found dead.

Police say Oscar Flores “was located deceased in Fairfax County” yesterday.

“The investigation into his death is being handled by the Fairfax County Police Department,” Arlington County police said in a brief statement. No other information was given.

Previously, ACPD said Flores “was last seen on February 13, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m. in the area of the Dulles Toll Road and Wolf Trap in Fairfax County.”

A reader tells ARLnow that there was police activity yesterday afternoon near where Flores was last seen.

“Friend of mine was just driving out the Dulles Toll Road at Wolf Trap,” the reader said, prior to the announcement of Flores’ death. “They have about 20 police cars on the side of the road. And two lanes blocked.”

An Arlington police spokeswoman declined to comment on the report.

Tysons Reporter, ARLnow’s sister site, reported Thursday afternoon that Flores’ remains were found near Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, “in an area off the roadway near Trap Road.”

Currently, Fairfax County police do not suspect foul play in his death.

ACPD Looking for Missing Man

An Arlington man is missing and the Arlington County Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating him.

Police say the man — 27-year-old Oscar Flores — went missing after being last seen Saturday night “in the area of the Dulles Toll Road and Wolf Trap in Fairfax County.”

“Mr. Flores is described as a White male, 6’2″, 160 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes,” ACPD said in a press release Tuesday evening. “He was last seen wearing a black long sleeve shirt, dark pants, and dark work boots. Police and family are concerned for his health and welfare.”

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective R. UPDATED: Police Find Missing Senior Near Pentagon City

Update at 1:50 p.m. — The missing man has been found along Army Navy Drive, near 28th Street S., according to police radio traffic. He was located as a result of ACPD’s Project Lifesaver technology.

Earlier: Arlington County police are looking for a missing senior in Crystal City, Pentagon City and other surrounding neighborhoods.

Police are using Project Lifesaver equipment in the search and are being assisted by the Fairfax County Police Department helicopter, according to scanner traffic. The Del Ray area of Alexandria is also being searched.

The man — who’s 5’10”, Hispanic and in his late 70s — went missing around noon, and is considered to be endangered.

He was “last seen wearing a black long sleeved shirt and a burgundy polo, khaki pants and a brown hat with a black rim… in the area of the 800 block of 23rd Street S.,” said an Arlington Alert text. “Anyone with any information please contact the Arlington County Emergency Communication Center at 703-558-2222.”

ACPD Asks for Help Locating Missing Woman

The Arlington County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a woman who has been missing since Aug. 17.

In a press release, below, the department says the woman’s family is concerned for her wellbeing.

The Arlington County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance locating a missing woman. Karen Dunn, 58, last had contact with her family on August 17, 2020.

Ms. Dunn is described as a white female with blonde hair, blue eyes, 5’06” and 180 lbs. She recently moved to the area from Gregory, Arkansas. She is known to have frequented businesses in the Rosslyn and Crystal City areas.

Police and family are concerned for her health and welfare.
