Give a warm welcome to Peaches, the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week! This 7 month old pup is playful and sweet like her name. She’s looking to become the best pup she can be and a family to call her own.

Her pals at Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation had a few things to say:

Peaches is a gentle, playful puppy, who can happily entertain herself pouncing on a tennis ball in the yard, or chewing on toys while being in a room with you.

This girl treats the window as her TV show, spending hours gazing out at the world. Peaches loves being near her people most of all, snuggling on the couch, showering you with kisses, and following you from room to room.

Peaches is currently living with 4 other dogs of very different temperaments and is adjusting her approach to each of them. She enjoys going for a walk in quiet areas along with a buddy or two, and is learning that the world is not so scary after all. Bonus: She does not mind the rain, snow, or cold to go out to do her business.

Peaches is looking for her own family that has the time to spend with her. She wants to keep learning to become the best pup she can be. Don’t miss out on making this girl a part of your life

Her purr motor is constantly in motion, and she adjusts easily to anything you can throw at her.

Searching for an experienced doggy companion? Meet Old Lady who is an affectionate 10-year-old looking to spend her time with a loving forever home.

Her friends at Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation had a few things to say about her:

Old Lady is a sweet, affectionate and wise senior gal who simply seeks love and companionship.

She may not be a puppy anymore, but this will not sway her away from a healthy game of tug-of-war or a little fetch session. She will shamelessly turn on her puppy dog eyes when she’s ready for a meal or a few treats. Good luck turning her down… none of us have had success so far!

She has shown calmness around the children and dogs she’s met so far. Old Lady is very protective of her family and needs time to warm up to new people. She will need leash training. Old Lady is a great, sweet dog and needs someone who is patient and willing to work with her.

This sweet girl is sure to bring extra happiness to all of her future family’s days.

The newest Adoptable Pet of the Week is Kita! Say hello to this 9-year-old Shepherd mix who is the perfect furry companion. This easygoing and sweet girl is on the hunt for her forever home.

Her friends at Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation had a few things to share about her:

Meet Kita, a senior dog who would be the perfect companion for anyone wanting an easygoing, sweet and loving companion. This gorgeous girl is nine years old.

She absolutely loves to go walking and exploring her neighborhood. Kita is super friendly around people — whether they are guests in your home or strangers out on the trails. Everyone is greeted with a wagging tail and happy wiggles! Kita is still learning the finer points of walking on a leash.

During the day, Kita enjoys looking out windows (loves checking out squirrels!) or curling up on a couch. She is also very happy to keep you company while you work — lying under a desk is another favorite spot of hers. She truly is a pleasure to have around!

Kita prefers not to be crated. Since she is so respectful of our home and has never damaged anything, we let her sleep on her bed or on a couch at night. Kita is fully housebroken and since being in our home she has had no accidents.

Kita would love to be your only dog, or with a calm smaller dog. She tends to be afraid of bigger dogs. We haven’t tried her with cats. Her calm, loving temperament would make her a wonderful addition to a home.

Is Kita the furry companion you’ve been searching for? Read more about Kita and about how to adopt by checking out her complete profile!

Meet Patsy, a 3-year-old bundle of love and the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week. This easy-going girl is ready to find her forever home!

Her friends at Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation have a few things to add:

Patsy is a bundle of love just waiting to find her forever home!

Her hobbies include sleeping upside-down, playing with feather wands, and getting all the head scratches you are willing to give! She likes to hang out on soft surfaces and take naps, but she also has a playful side and will get “zoomies when excited.

Patsy is also a great coworker and will stay nearby for some occasional attention while you work from home. She is an easy-going cat who is comfortable with guests, but would prefer a calm environment overall.

Patsy is FIV+, which means she has a weaker immune system and is more prone to infections; however, this does not prevent her from living an otherwise healthy, normal life.

Are you and Patsy a match? Check out her complete profile to learn how to start the adoption process and more about FIV.

Titus may be a cranky old man at times, but he’s the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week and looking for adventure! This 5-year-old Yorkshire Terrier is searching for a companion to show him a few new tricks.

His friends at Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation had a few things to say about him:

Age is just a number, right?

Well, Titus’ number on his original shelter paperwork puts him at 5 years, but all the vets agree that he is at least 10! He’s got old eyes, old teeth and an old heart, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have any pep. Titus is not content to laze the day away — he loves being out and about, running up to meet new people, and chasing squirrels or rabbits.

Whether he’s outside or in, he’s the ultimate security dog — he will alert you to every person, animal, or delivery vehicle that passes by. People who hear him before they see him always expect a dog that’s much bigger, because he has such a loud, deep bark!

Because he turns into a “cranky old man” when he doesn’t want another dog in his space, Titus needs to be an only dog. He is looking for a patient owner that can help him learn to channel some zen when he gets over-stimulated. Are you the one who can teach this senior some new tricks?

Are you up to showing Titus a few new tricks? To learn more, check out his complete profile!

Say hello to the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week, Taz! This 2-year-old Shepherd/Pyrenees mix is a fluffy ball of fun.

Currently, he’s enjoying snacks in a foster home through Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation and looking for a forever home where he can feel super comfortable.

Here is what Taz has to say about himself:

Hi, I am Taz. Let me tell you all about my vision of my best life as a dog!

I came to northern Virginia from Fayette County down south. I am 2-years-old and have always been a big, fluffy fun guy as far back as I can remember.

In my free time, I enjoy eating snacks and well, really all kinds of food. I also love taking treats gently right from your hand. I am a gentle-dog. I am very smart and will learn or perform for a decent snack. I will hand you my paw; you provide food. Any questions? Are those snacks?

I also love to play with toys. I like all kinds of toys (sometimes I go nuts on cat toys — so watch out!) and am super playful. I also loooove to sniff. I am, and have the biggest sniffer according to the book of dog records. I’m poetic in that I like to take my time making sense of the scents around me. I get happy when I get to go on walks — I workout to stay in shape.

Besides eating, sniffing, walks and toys, I am also into gardening, specifically digging holes where there are none yet. It’s a great hobby! Try it with me ok?

I am looking for a family that has similar interests and will make me feel super comfortable around their neighbors and friends. Due to my size, adults and teenagers are my favorite friends.

Interested in having some fun, getting snacks and being a forever friend with Taz?

Please give a warm welcome to the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week, Jinny Gibbs!

This 8-year-old playful girl is looking for an affectionate companion and somewhere to call her forever home.

Her friends at Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation had a few words to say about her:

Jinny is a playful, loving cat with the silliest personality.

She never says “no” to playtime — especially with her favorite string toy or catnip ball! Jinny is vocal and chatty, and she likes to (politely!) ask for affection.

Want to get on Jinny’s good side? Try a few face scratches. She goes crazy for them.

Is Jinny the playful, furry companion you’ve been searching for? Check out her complete profile to learn more about how to adopt!

Meet Savage, a classy Chihuahua with a lot of personality and the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week. This 4-year-old comes in a little package and is looking for his forever home.

His friends at Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation have a few words to say:

Savage, or “Savvy” as he likes to be called, is a lot of personality in a little package! Once he’s had a few days to get used to his new home, he will be the ultimate lap dog.

He is a dedicated companion who always wants to be by your side, or chasing the tennis ball you just threw for him! He’d love a home where someone is usually around, such as working from home or maybe retired. Savage has thrived in an apartment environment and is fine being left alone as long as he’s crated. He walks well on the leash with some guidance to make him feel more confident.

He should be in a forever home where he will be your one and only, and should not go to a home with children. Savage is fearful of men — he needs extra time to warm up to them, but once he approaches you, you’re in!

Are you and Savage a match? Learn more about Savage and how to start the adoption process by checking out his complete profile!

Don’t let her face fool you, Appaloosa is a sweet and playful girl and the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week.

Her friends at Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation have a few things to say about her:

A gorgeous black and orange tortie, this one and a half year old may be full-grown but she is still a kitten at heart.

Energetic and playful, she needs a home with lots of toys and playmates that are willing to play with her. She is a sweet girl who follows her foster mom from room to room and likes to cuddle with her in bed.

She would do best in a home with another playful young cat or as a solo cat.

Check out Appaloosa’s complete profile to learn more and watch her playful side shine!

I pronounce the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week, Queenie. This 4-year-old royal lady is a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd mix looking for a patient and confident forever friend.

Here’s what her friends at Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation had to say:

Queenie is a beautiful and friendly lil lady ready to make your acquaintance. She’s a friendly, active and energetic girl who loves people, treats and toys. She walks well on the leash and is a nice car companion. She loves cuddling and being around her humans, following them around everywhere, so would enjoy a family that will be around a lot! She warms right up and works her way into your lap. She is incredibly loving – she loves pets and will show you affection back! She also loves all toys!

Queenie is smart, and did we mention, motivated by yummy treats? She looks forward to continuing her training journey with a patient and confident owner. Right now, she knows how to “sit” and “lie down” and even “wait” on command. The sky’s the limit with Queenie!

She’s selective about her dog friends and needs slow introductions — best to skip the dog park with this independent girl and spend your time bonding and exercising elsewhere!

Want to visit Queenie in person? See what upcoming events Queenie will be at and be sure to check out her complete profile!
