An SUV flipped on its side as a result of a two-vehicle crash on Wilson Blvd this morning.
The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Wilson and N. Rhodes Street, roughly between Rosslyn and Courthouse. The intersection is home to the Rhodeside Grill restaurant.
The road was blocked immediately following the crash, causing some traffic tie-ups.
No word yet on whether there were any injuries.

Developer, 91, Wants to Move Into New Building — Longtime local developer Marvin Weissberg is enthusiastic about the 24-story, 407-unit residential tower he’s proposing to replace the RCA building in Rosslyn. So enthusiastic is Weissberg, 91, that he says he wants to move in when it’s completed. [Washington Business Journal]

(Updated 1:10 p.m.) Construction in Rosslyn has led many people on foot to make a dubious choice after the temporary closure of a pedestrian walkway: walking in a busy street.
Crews closed the temporary walkway on Wilson Blvd between N. Lynn and N. Moore streets, adjacent to the Central Place development, where work is ongoing on the new CEB Tower.
And during lunchtime Thursday, numerous people made the risky decision to walk on the outside of the walkway along Wilson Blvd, just inches from cars traveling west on that major thoroughfare.
A reader emailed to say that pedestrians had been “forced” to walk in the street, although the sidewalk on the other side of Wilson Blvd remains open for use.
A spokeswoman for the county’s Dept. of Environmental Services said the closure will last until June 29 for utility work. She said signs direct pedestrians to the opposite sidewalk.
(Updated at 11:35 a.m.) An office in Rosslyn received a bomb threat last week, but no explosives were found.
The incident happened Wednesday morning on the 1100 block of Wilson Blvd. There are two office buildings on that block, though police did not specify which one was affected. The business that received the threat was education-related, we’re told.
Police say the bomb threat was received via a letter, which was found by an employee. No threats were found during a K-9 sweep of the building.

A coffee bar is moving into the RCA building in Rosslyn, in place of an English language school.
Permitting applications indicate that Central Coffee Bar — also known as Cities Coffee and Bar in county filings — will replace part of the Inlingua English Center in the first floor of the building at 1901 N. Moore Street.
Workers will convert the 2,212 square feet of office space back to its original retail use. As of Friday morning, work is underway to tear up the floors and ceilings.
Inlingua will remain in the building, but with a reduced footprint.
The building is set for demolition in the next few years, to be replaced by a residential tower. The Washington Business Journal reported last month that a 407-apartment building with 12,709 square feet of ground-floor retail space has been proposed in its place.
No word yet on an opening date for the new coffee bar.

The lineup is set for the 27th annual Rosslyn Jazz Fest.
The free event is scheduled for Saturday, September 9 in Gateway Park (1300 Lee Highway). It regularly draws over 5,000 music fans to the park for world-class jazz music along with local food trucks and a beer and wine garden.
The lineup this year consists of four different music groups:
New this year, a Spotify playlist is available to listen to the artists’ work before the festival. Timings will be set at a later date. The event is presented by the Rosslyn Business Improvement District and Arlington Arts.
Is Yelp Coming to Rosslyn? — Rosslyn’s 1812 N. Moore Street tower, the future corporate headquarters of Nestlé USA, could also be a destination for review website Yelp. The San Francisco-based company is reportedly considering opening an office in the D.C. area and 1812 N. Moore is on the short list. Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman grew up in Arlington. Democratic Committee Recommends Primaries — In a move that could be seen as a rebuke of the Arlington County Democratic Committee’s decision to hold a caucus to select a County Board nominee this year, the 8th District Democratic Committee has approved “a resolution saying primaries, not caucuses, should be the main form of nomination of Democratic candidates.” [InsideNova]
County Employee Is ‘Roadeo’ Star — Alexis Zambrano, a long-time county equipment operator, has scored a silver award in a regional “equipment roadeo” competition, sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic American Public Works Association. [Arlington County]
Just like burgers, cupcakes, and froyo before it, there is clearly a new business boom in progress in Arlington. This latest business trend, at least, has the promise of subtracting pounds rather than adding them.
Boutique fitness studios have been popping up all around Arlington lately, and as if to reinforce the point, the two latest entrants have very similar names: E60 and F45.
F45, an Australia-based fitness franchise, is “opening soon” at 1101 S. Joyce Street in Pentagon Row, though an opening date has not yet been announced.
F45 describes itself as “a Group-Training facility that feature[s] the most dynamic and effective training styles to date.”
Meanwhile, a fitness studio called E60 — no relation — is getting ready to open next month in Rosslyn.
Located at 1524 Clarendon Blvd, E60 Fitness is described as the “home of Elevate 60, a gut-busting high-intensity interval training class” which “uses custom equipment and a hybrid of several exercise concepts along with heart rate monitoring technology to provide a uniquely exciting and invigorating workout.”
A grand opening for the business, which has an existing location in Ashburn, is set for Saturday, June 3.
A new free rock concert series will kick off next week at Rosslyn’s Central Place Plaza.
The Rosslyn Rocks! Concerts are scheduled to take place each Thursday in June from 6-8 p.m. at the plaza on N. Lynn Street. Each week, a new cover band will entertain concertgoers.
Attendees can also enjoy a drink in the neighborhood’s newest outdoor space, with proceeds from sales going to the Arlington Street People’s Assistance Network.

The public plaza already hosts the newly-opened Rosslyn farmers market and is adjacent to a 31-story mixed-use building that includes apartments and retail, including a new McDonald’s.
Kal Penn Spotted at A-Town — Eddie Lacy wasn’t the only famous person spotted at an Arlington bar over the past week. Actor and former Obama administration official Kal Penn was photographed hanging out at A-Town Bar and Grill in Ballston this past weekend.

A would-be thief failed to steal a purse Monday evening in Rosslyn
The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. on the 1500 block of Clarendon Blvd, the same block as District Taco and a Starbucks.

ATTEMPTED PURSE SNATCHING, 2017-05220224, 1500 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 5:31 p.m. on May 22, officers responded to the report of an attempted purse snatching that just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined an unknown male suspect approached a female victim from behind and attempted to steal the victim’s purse. Following a brief struggle, the suspect fled the scene without the victim’s purse. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-twenties, approximately 5’5″ tall with a slight build. He was wearing a blue hoodie, jeans, and dark baseball cap. The investigation is ongoing.
